Lego WeDo 2 Robotics camp is off to a great start! These campers and our teacher Haley are loving it!

This Friday Kids Day Out is one of our favorites - Woodworking!

Beyond merely teaching students how to shape wood or create crafts, this KDO will foster problem-solving skills, spatial awareness, and the ability to transform abstract ideas into tangible objects.

July 19, Woodworking Swords:
Boys and girls alike will enjoy making a wooden sword to paint and decorate. Safety is our number one goal, students will be closely monitored while using tools and saws.

Cooking and preparing food not only enhances a child's physical health, but also stimulates their cognitive and emotional & social growth in many ways. From using basic math through measuring ingredients to developing fine motor skills while preparing food & social skills interacting with staff and other campers, Young Chefs Camp offers a fun and exciting way to promote many areas of development.

Enchanted Forest, July 15-17
Paint a shimmering castle in an enchanted forest on canvas, make a cute gnome craft, fairy character, create a cardboard castle to take home and make a terrarium with clay mushrooms.

Chinese Watercolor, July 15-17
Enjoy learning about a new culture while we paint the afternoon away! Master the use of a bamboo brush to paint a Chinese butterfly and plum blossom branch in a Ming Dynasty vase. Learn to draw a Chinese dragon, print a terracotta clay warrior and make an origami animal.

As Seen on YouTube–Real or Fake? July 15-17 Campers will watch a new science YouTube video each day and carry out a popular experiment to discover if they are real or fake! You tube videos are made to wow but are they always true or just clever editing? Join us to find out!

Edible Snack Sculptures, Ages 4-12, July 15-17 Campers will be encouraged to PLEASE play with your food! Recipes include a yummy dough animal, shapely pancakes, patterned strawberries and LOTS of funny fruit and vegetable faces, skeletons and creatures.

We had some visitors to jungle camp last week and it was AWESOME!!
Thank you D'zz Spot Reptarium & Educational Center Inc for coming out and educating our campers about your beautiful reptiles!
Fears were conquered for some and dreams came true for others!

Fun field trip with McConnell Air Force base daycare kiddos. This group of kindergartners did GREAT with drawing King Tut and painting with gold liquid watercolor. We still have a few spots open for field trips if your daycare or latchkey wants a fun and educational experience.

Whatever one toucan can do two toucans can do too! As you can see our toucans can do anything! First day of Jungle Animals camp was so busy and Fun.

This weeks summer camps:

Jungle Animals, July 8-10
Make a blue morpho butterfly, sloth, jaguar, pink river dolphin, toucan and parrot using fun media such as wax resist and watercolor, design marker, colored pencil, clay, collage and oil pastels. D’zz Spot Reptarium and Educational Center will join us with several reptiles to interact with.

Indiana Jones, July 8-10
Draw a portrait of Indiana Jones and mount on a map, make snake decorations, a working *safe* blow dart, learn how to use a compass, paper mache a golden chalice and eat monkey brain jello. Educators from D’zz Spot Reptarium and Educational Center will join us with several reptiles to pet.

Embroidery, July 8-10 No prior experience required! Students will create art pieces on an embroidery hoop such as a spooky spider web, a rainbow with a cute storm cloud or a colorful butterfly. We will also make felt stuffies or a black cat time permitting.

Weather Watchers, July 8-10
Ages 6-12
Do you have an interest in the weather? Us too! Learn about weather patterns and face nature’s fury: lightning, tornadoes, blizzards, and more. We also have a surprise special guest coming to visit with our budding meteorologists!

Barbie Party Inspired Foods,
Ages 4-12, July 8-10
Not just for girls–even those with Kenergy will have a blast! Barbie pink is the inspiration for all these tasty foods! Recipes include: bubblegum fudge, pink deviled eggs, pink popcorn, strawberry cheesecake bites, pink pinwheels, pink dips and cut veggie roses for decoration.

✨ Spotlight on Science! ✨

Science camps are so beneficial to our campers! Students team up on hands-on science projects requiring communication, delegating tasks, and integrating feedback. Group activities build interpersonal skills like openly exchanging ideas, cooperatively troubleshooting issues, respectfully critiquing each other’s work, and learning from setbacks.

Not just being told concepts but having kids actively participate in science experiments & art projects cements comprehension much more than passively listening to concepts.

Big Cats, July 1-3
Use acrylics to paint a lion on canvas, craft a life size tiger face out of cardboard, make panther quilling craft, draw a jaguar in the jungle with oil paste land make a polymer clay figurine.

Chemistry Concoctions, Ages 6-12
July 1-3 Let’s get Chemical by checking out a variety of chemical reactions. Campers will follow the scientific method to hypothesize and carry out experiments, this camp is all about the REACTION!

Christmas in July, Ages 8-12,
July 1-3 If your child enjoys holiday baking this is the camp for them! Recipes include mint cookies and cream bark, the ultimate blondie bars, a tabletop tree, defrost the snowman, thumbprint cookies and spritz cookies. We hope to make fun ornament crafts time permitting.

Meow Wolf camp was so much fun! It was really busy and I didn’t get nearly enough pictures! We made terrariums, watercolor, flowers, cardboard fantasy cat faces, drew jaguars in the jungle, played in slimy sensory tubs, built towers with translucent gems and made beautiful, resin stain glass castles.

Ancient Egypt Camp has been both educational and artistic! These young artists have had the best time working with various media & learning all about Egypt

June 28, Tie Dye: Students will learn new folding techniques to tie-dye a t-shirt and flour sack – we provide all materials! Wear clothes that can get messy!

July 12, Avatar: The Last Airbender: Draw Aang and Appa with mixed media then choose water bottle stickers from our Avatar sticker horde! Play fun martial arts inspired games in afternoon specials.

Aug 2, Lego Day: Students will enjoy rotating between different Lego stations and creating a Lego printed/stamped robot with paint.

Aug 9, Fun in the Sun Water Day: Bring your swimsuit, towel and spray sunscreen for fun water and sensory play on our playground. Please send spray sunscreen so your child can easily apply it themselves!

Aug 16, Garfield & Pets: If you love pets or enjoyed the Garfield movie you’ll love these projects! Students will assemble a cardboard cat or dog portrait and learn how to use cardboard cutting tools safely, sample Garfield’s favorite food and have fun playing animal themed games in afternoon specials.

June 14, Whittling Soap:

Whittle a soap boat out of Ivory soap and design a cute flag and then use the soap shavings to make an herbed soap ball.
