First and foremost Bug-O-Rama ICT is beyond excited and ecstatic to be featured in the July 2024 issue of Hot VW Magazine! And of course honored to be in international print! Wow!

In 2021 I met Shin at another VW car show and we instantly became friends! He’s such an amazing person to be around, his love and energy for the German cars we all love so much is just so cool! Over the next couple years we stayed in touch and continued our conversations about coming to Kansas to partake in the states largest and at the time ONLY all German Car Show. So in early 2023 it happened, Shin and I had that life changing conversation and he agreed to come to our 14th Annual event last October! My initial response was “Holy S**t he’s coming!” After 7 or 8 years of owning and running this program we are finally getting Hot VW Magazine here, this is huge because when I acquired this show is was on the brink of not happening the next year. And now we do a weekend of dry camping, live music, food trucks, vendors, swappers, corn hole tournaments, axe throwing, etc and raise money for Crippled Children & Veterans… over $50k as of today!

So humbled and thankful to have such a huge support system to continue to do what we do! We do 8 events a year in the Wichita area… (if you didn’t know, now you do!) We do 6 monthly second Sunday events “Donuts & BBQ” from April to September. We do our annual open wheel “Veterans Honor - Car, Truck, Bike Show & Poker Run” the weekend before Memorial Day. And of course our October show, where it all started for us, “Deutsch-Tober Festival & German Car Show”, this year is our 15th Annual.

Without our drive & mission and of course our sponsors, donors, volunteers, participants & spectators none of this would be or would have happened! This week has been exciting for Bug-O-Rama ICT, its donation week! Our nonprofit 501(c)3 has a passion for giving money away to crippled children and veterans!

The donations we gave away this week are from the proceeds we raised at our May 18th show, Veteran Honor - Car, Truck, Bike Show & Poker Run. This was our first May Show and we had a lot to compete with. There were 6 car shows and 3 poker runs in Wichita that day, so we had our work cut out for us. We had 70 vehicles in the Show and 20 riders in the Poker Run.

Earlier this week we mailed 2 checks to the American Legion Post 256 (we would have preferred to do an in person double check presentation, but it just didn’t work out) then last night we went to the American Legion Post 4 to make our donation to the Kansas Honor Flight. ❤️

BOR had a great time this weekend in Springfield, MO. This is a first for us to attend the JuneBug Jamboree, it was awesome and the venue was amazing!

Also congratulations to Kyle Lawson out of Joplin, MO for being selected with the BOR cool pick award! We look forward to seeing you in October, if we don’t see ya before that! We loved your Okra, sweet ride!

BOR had a great time this weekend in Catoosa, OK. We love going south to this show for several reasons. One major reason is because our nonprofits have a common interest in helping children. Thank you Kyle for putting on an amazing event!

Also congratulations to Don McClung out of Amarillo, TX for being selected with the BOR cool pick award! We know you’re going to be business playing Nascar this October (we are jealous!), but we look forward to seeing you in 2025 at our annual German Show. We loved your Tiki Bus, made us thirsty!

Preregister for the show on our website 👆🏼, then show up at 8am, pick up your goodie bag (Tshirt, dash plaque, etc etc) We believe in giving your moneys worth! Then get signed up for the poker run. When you get back from the poker run you can wipe the road grime off your ride, put your window card in your vehicle so our judges and finish judging. Partake in the food trucks, vendors, live music and corn hole tournament, etc.

Get em gassed up & cleaned up and ready to roll out for a cool scenic poker run! May 18th we will open up registration at 0800 American Legion Post 256 in Wichita, KS. Last vehicle out at 0900, everyone back to the post by 1300. Clean em up again so you can get em in the car show. This is open to bikes, cars & trucks!
