Christopher King Foundation
Saving Lives-One Seat Belt at a Time Christopher King was killed in a car crash right after graduating high school. [email protected]
If he would have worn his seat belt he would still be alive. It was the one time he jumped into the back seat of a convertible and didn't buckle up that tragically took his life: he always wore his seat belt in the front seats. Our mission is to save lives-one seat belt at a time.
ENJOY Labor Day to the fullest! But PLAN to have a safe, sober ride home. Schedule a rideshare, call a taxi, or have a sober friend get you home safely. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over! đ¨đ
If you feel different, you drive different! Drive sober or get pulled over! đđ¨
The choice is simple this Labor Day: a rideshare or taxi is MUCH cheaper than a DUI. Remember â Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over đ¨đ.
As most of you know we have been gathering support to have the seat belt law changed to primary as Virginia has the lowest use rate in the country. I am so excited to announce I got to meet Governor Youngkin at the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Press conference and he said absolutely we need to change it to primary this year!!!!! We will save at least 50 lives, 700 serious injuries, and over $180 million dollars by doing this!!! Please tell your legislators to support this important life saving law. Thank you Kurt Erickson for the connection!
Fred met me at the crash site tonight to make videos about the importance of seat belts. Fred was with Chris in the car that night and survived because he wore his seat belt.
Spoke to 706 kids, teens, and adults at Clara Byrd Elementary! Entire families came out and grandparents! Got to speak to all about the importance of seat belts. The Pugkle up stickers were very popular along with candy of course!!
Tonightâs open house at James Blair Middle School. Spoke to over 500 kids, teens and adults about the importance of seat belts. Thank you so much Principal Littleton for letting me come again this year!
Open house at Jamestown High School. Got to speak to over 400 parents, teens and kids about Christopher and the importance of bucking up. Exhausting but important. So many parents and teens thanked me for sharing. Also spoke to friends of Chris that still talk about how much they loved him and miss him.
Buckle up in every seat every time. It wouldâve saved Christopherâs life.
Buckle Up, James City County Local first responders show James City County residents a proven way to save lives: their seat belt.

**Attention Teachers!**
We're excited to announce a new initiative in collaboration with Drive Smart Virginia, James City County, and Williamsburg Police Departments. This free program involves just two visits from our foundation and the police (if available). During the program, students will monitor speeds in front of schools, put up signs encouraging drivers to slow down and buckle up, and then we'll check a week later to see if there's any improvement!
If you're interested in bringing this safe driving awareness program to your classroom, please send me a message. We can visit elementary, middle, and high schoolsâboth public and private.
Please share this with your networks!
