August is here and there are only 2 spots remaining for summer trauma intensives. A lot of work has already been accomplished this summer and clients are feeling "released" with "more insight" than they noticed prior to a trauma intensive.
To schedule, reach out at www.camelcitycounseling.com. These will return in the new year.
We had the pleasure of sharing with Dulin Church this past Sunday. Our topic of conversation was "When People Hurt Us." What a sweet time to share, listen, teach, and learn. We covered the intricacies of abuse vs hurt, grief, meaning-making post-hurt, the role of prayer and community in grief, and reconciliation in relationships when possible.
While we cannot escape being hurt or hurting others in our life, our faith can give us hope, comfort, and a guide to how to love ourselves and others.

As an LCMHCS with 19 years in the field, and having specialized in teen girls and their families, Borderline Personality Disorder, women who have experienced severe trauma, and women with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Sara Hepler, LCMHCS, Camel City Counseling's Founder and Executive Director is opening up times for trauma intensives this summer.
She hopes this will allow clients with a trusted therapist to engage in a 4 hour intensive in order to process their trauma in a safe environment while helping remove blockages in their ongoing work.
Using Robin Shapiro and Dr Linda Gantt’s trauma frameworks, clients will walk through a powerful time to ground, utilize DBT skills, EMDR, IFS and expressive arts in order to move forward in their healing journey and shorten the time spent in ongoing therapy.
All participants must be in active therapy, and will need to complete an assessment prior to the intensive. In network insurance will be applied to the first hour. Reach out to [email protected] to take advantage of this summer opportunity.

It’s impossible to experience comfort and courage simultaneously. When someone reaches out for help, we’re here to serve, and we applaud those courageous enough to seek help - ANY help. We exist to serve the mental health and wellness needs throughout the states of North Carolina and Florida. We offer in person and online therapy as well as yoga and mindfulness based wellness services.
As a client, you may feel unsure, anxious, overwhelmed, scattered, depressed, burdened by trauma, or “moody.” You might simply be feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges OR trying to change the way you operate in relationships. You may be someone looking for a career change OR a parent who is at their wits end with your children's behavior. As a teenager graduating soon from high school or a recent college graduate, you might wonder what lies ahead in your next season of life. You may be a parent worried about your little one. You might have most of life figured out, but wonder why your childhood trauma is still haunting you. Are you a "strong" person that now feels overwhelmed by emotions or a new parent just simply trying to navigate life? Or a person finally ready to let go of the fears you've had all of your life and live free and unburdened?
We’re here to help you with all of those concerns. We work with families, children (ages 5+), couples, and individuals. Collectively, we are highly trained in treating trauma, ASD related concerns, anxiety disorders, family systems, play therapy, couples’ needs, disordered eating, OCD, emotion focused therapy, mindfulness, and more. We even offer an integrated model of care in which a client may benefit from working with several of our therapists who can address different aspects of their healing while here at Camel City Counseling.
As a small yet mighty practice, we meet clients where they are, and help them navigate toward their goals in a warm, relational, inviting manner. You aren't just a number here at Camel City Counseling. We provide very individualized treatment ,and are highly committed to your success and wellbeing.
