COLD CALLER SPOTLIGHT

Jack Freedman will be making his Cold Calling debut at The Big Chill this year. For many years, The Shalom Project was blessed by the generosity of his father David Freedman, who spent hours sitting on the ice across multiple Big Chills. A local attorney and faithful member of Temple Emanuel, David was always eager to support others, especially those in need in his community. Tragically, we lost David in 2021. In the intervening years, friends and fellow attorneys have committed to sitting on the ice in his memory at The Big Chill. This year, we are fortunate to have David's own son, Jack Freedman, sitting on the ice for the very first time.

We are grateful for the many, many years of support provided by the entire Freedman family and are excited to welcome Jack at The Big Chill this year!

In May, the Flourish Program celebrated the achievements of seven graduates from two cohorts during their spring graduation at Ardmore UMC. We are grateful for a fantastic year and to everyone who made it possible, including our incredible educators, therapists, childcare volunteers, and meal providers.

One graduate perfectly summed up its purpose: “Flourish not only taught me good financial skills but also helped me to find my own voice.” It's inspiring to witness the program's growing success, and we can't wait to see what next year brings!

We are in need of summer clothes for our Clothing Closet clients! With the heat of summer upon us, many folks arrive each week searching for seasonal clothing and we are running low.

If you have gently used summer clothing to donate, please bring them by our offices at 639 S Green Street on Mondays and Tuesdays between 12:30 and 3 pm or Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10 am and 3 pm.
