Last Wednesday, Clarkies joined us at the Brooklyn Museum for a reception and private tour of Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys.

Attendees enjoyed the exhibition, with its incredibly vibrant and larger-than-life artwork, and a chance to spend time with fellow Clark alumni to honor Juneteenth!

Last week, Clarkies honored Pride Month by attending “Q***r Theory, Modernism, and the Pleasure of Eating,” a virtual discussion with Professor Elizabeth Blake. Attendees enjoyed hearing Professor Blake discuss her new book, “Edible Arrangements: Modernism’s Q***r Forms.”

Since graduating from Clark in 1973, David Brenerman has served his community in a multitude of public service roles, including State Representative, City Counselor, and Mayor of Portland, Maine. Today, David continues to give back – at Clark, he serves on the Alumni Council and the Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Committee, hosts alumni events, and chairs the Alumni Awards Committee!

Each year, the Clark Alumni Council Awards Committee honors alumni for their service to Clark and society. This year’s recipients, with their wide range of accomplishments and impacts, display a common bond — a passion to help others — that is deeply rooted in their Clark education.

Tonight at the annual Alumni Council awards dinner, four awards were presented:

Happy Thursday Clarkies! Reunion Weekend is almost here – but we have one more class to celebrate in our series – the class of 2024!

These soon-to-be alumni started their Clark journey during the height of the pandemic but experienced several historic moments during their time on campus. Over the past four years, these Clarkies have witnessed the inauguration of the University’s 10th President, David Fithian ’87; the establishment of the Becker School of Design & Technology at Clark University; the groundbreaking AND completion of the Center for Media Arts, Computing, and Design; the formation of the Division of Student Success; to name a few!

We can’t wait to see how they will challenge convention and change our world!
