Today is Global Day! Please join us in celebrating the impact and contributions our peer support team members have made in supporting the people who use our services.
β€οΈ Peer support professions have been integral to the growth and success of our services at Open Sky Community Services, and we are grateful for the knowledge and skill they bring into their work every day.
Here's what individuals served by Open Sky say about their peer team:
π "Having a wonderful family support partner has helped me grow both as a parent and an individual. It's great having support on the road to mental health recovery."
π βHonestly for me, Peer support and support from my peers is why I'm where I am in life and why I'm still alive.β
π βPeer support gives me motivation to simply get out of bed and engage in the world around me and some days simply getting out of bed is enough.β
π "The peer support system I have in place has become an invaluable resource to me. The assistance and support I have received in my times of need has given me a stability and security unparalleled to any other. I have struggled like I always have but I have been able to go to my pier support system and confront any challenges I am facing with my diagnosis. I have had several struggles in the several years I have been affiliated with Open Sky and they have helped me get through all of it. I know now that if I face troubles with my diagnosis or my recovery I have somewhere I can get the help I need. I have grown tremendously and overcome obstacles I was facing. Through various hospitalizations over the years and countless battles with recovery and I could have not done it without the help of my peer support system. I cannot say enough good things about my peer support system. They are a helpful guide in my life and I continue to grow and move forward with their help. I could not have done any of this without all the wonderful peer support I have received. I am very grateful for my peer support system and it is a vital part of my recovery. Hats off to all the great peer supports I have!"
