We are working hard at trying to get our Hippotherapy program back up and running at Pegasus after a long four years! We are currently collaborating with Tiffany Salido who is a physical therapist at PNWU as she goes through the American Hippotherapy Association workshops. Miley was a trooper yesterday with our new friend “Gus” as we helped Tiffany complete her homework tasks from the workshop! ☺️
We hope everyone is staying cool this week!! We’re cruising right through our Summer session trying to keep everyone as comfortable as possible 😎☀️🐴

We want to congratulate Elise Robert, our Volunteer of the Session for Spring session! Elise is one of our newer horse leaders, and she has been so helpful jumping in wherever needed and filling in for last minute openings. We are so grateful to have such awesome volunteers!! Thank you Elise!
Today is an exciting day! We are beginning a pilot for our new mental health focused program, Equine Assisted Counseling. We're collaborating with Comprehensive Healthcare, four kiddos from their inpatient facility, and one of their Recreational Therapists. We're partnering them up with a few of our 4-legged therapists, and are excited to see what blossoms out of this!

Four of our staff attended the PATH International Region 9 Conference in Ellensburg this weekend to further our knowledge in equine assisted services! A big thanks to our friends at Spirit Therapeutic Riding Center for hosting!
We received the sweetest quote from our rider Aren’s grandma today and we had to share! “Aren has learned so many new skills and his confidence has grown full measures. He no longer needs behavioral cognitive therapy and he is beginning to gain social awareness, which has been directly related to his team at Pegasus!” 💙🐴
We’re at Fortuity Cellars today for Run for the Rosé with 10% of sales going back to Pegasus! It’s a beautiful day, stop by and see us!
We celebrated our Executive Director’s birthday in the best way possible - taking the Pegasus ponies up to the Washington State Horse Park! It’s so good for our horses’ minds to get them off property and out on some trails! What a beautiful day ☀️🐴
Exciting news! We received a grant from Legends Casino Hotel that will cover our Pony Pals visits to nursing homes around Yakima this Summer! A huge thank you to Legends for the community support!

A bit of a late post - but we have a new face on our team! Amy is not new to the Pegasus barn, but she has recently filled our role as Program Coordinator after our wonderful Teri retired. Amy started off volunteering with Pegasus a few years ago and quickly became a huge help in our lessons on a weekly basis. We are so excited to have her assisting our volunteers and rider families!

We have started some exciting upgrades to our Sensory Trail on our property, and first up was adding some fencing! A huge thank you to Parker Youth & Sports Foundation and International Paper for assisting with grant funding towards this project, and D-Fence Fencing Company for the excellent work! Stay tuned for some more awesome upgrades in the near future!
We are so excited to be starting up our Winter session today and wanted to officially introduce the two newest members of our herd - Sunny and Jax! Sunny is a beautiful buckskin Quarter Horse mare who has a lot of training under her belt and is such a great addition for our riders who are advancing their skills and learning to ride independently. Jax is a quiet little guy who is the perfect size for our smaller riders who need volunteer assistance. One of them is a care-lease, and one was a donation to our program - we are SO blessed to have such great support from our local horse community and the owners that trust us to care for their wonderful horses.
We wrapped up our Fall 2 session right before Christmas and want to congratulate Felicia Faringer, our Volunteer of the Session! Felicia's training as an Occupational Therapist is a huge help in her interactions with some of our clients! Thank you Felicia!
