We are working hard at trying to get our Hippotherapy program back up and running at Pegasus after a long four years! We are currently collaborating with Tiffany Salido who is a physical therapist at PNWU as she goes through the American Hippotherapy Association workshops. Miley was a trooper yesterday with our new friend “Gus” as we helped Tiffany complete her homework tasks from the workshop! ☺️

Today is an exciting day! We are beginning a pilot for our new mental health focused program, Equine Assisted Counseling. We're collaborating with Comprehensive Healthcare, four kiddos from their inpatient facility, and one of their Recreational Therapists. We're partnering them up with a few of our 4-legged therapists, and are excited to see what blossoms out of this!

We received the sweetest quote from our rider Aren’s grandma today and we had to share! “Aren has learned so many new skills and his confidence has grown full measures. He no longer needs behavioral cognitive therapy and he is beginning to gain social awareness, which has been directly related to his team at Pegasus!” 💙🐴

A bit of a late post - but we have a new face on our team! Amy is not new to the Pegasus barn, but she has recently filled our role as Program Coordinator after our wonderful Teri retired. Amy started off volunteering with Pegasus a few years ago and quickly became a huge help in our lessons on a weekly basis. We are so excited to have her assisting our volunteers and rider families!

We are so excited to be starting up our Winter session today and wanted to officially introduce the two newest members of our herd - Sunny and Jax! Sunny is a beautiful buckskin Quarter Horse mare who has a lot of training under her belt and is such a great addition for our riders who are advancing their skills and learning to ride independently. Jax is a quiet little guy who is the perfect size for our smaller riders who need volunteer assistance. One of them is a care-lease, and one was a donation to our program - we are SO blessed to have such great support from our local horse community and the owners that trust us to care for their wonderful horses.

We wrapped up our Fall 2 session right before Christmas and want to congratulate Felicia Faringer, our Volunteer of the Session! Felicia's training as an Occupational Therapist is a huge help in her interactions with some of our clients! Thank you Felicia!
