Colin started out packing beans in the factory back in the day. He quickly realized he would be happier being behind the machine. Find him at Metal Lane, he’ll laugh at all your bad jokes.

We’d like to share some portraits of a few individuals who have been a part of our everyday lives for years.

Pictured here is Daniel Levi. A multi-disciplinary artist who frequents our Buitenkant store. A jack of all trades and a true master of some.

The old Roastery and cafe on Roodehek street. You won’t find us there anymore but they still serve our coffee and some damn fine pizza.

The first on our list is Nassar. A Bo-Kaap local, an analog camera expert, a coffee lover and philosopher.

Back in the day all of us baristas came together after our Friday shifts. We split our tips, drank a lot of beer and spoke a load of nonsense. We called them Tip Parties.

This is an open invitation to our Final Tip Party, in honor of Gareth Jon Parkin.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our friend, mentor and colleague Gareth Parkin.

Gareth’s kindness will live on in those who he so easily gave it away to. We are so beyond grateful to have had Gareth by our side for the past 9 years. Our love goes out to Gareth’s family and girlfriend who will deeply miss him.
