People often ask me how I ended up doing foot care? It is easy: my great grandmother was a diabetic in the time of LARGE syringes and injection needles. My grandmother lost her leg and had it shortened again after a neglected foot ulcer became gangrenous. And my dad had to spend his last 4 years on peritoneal dialysis(4 hourly... man that is commitment)

To me: if I can just help one person manage their diabetes better to prolong the complications and stay healthier longer I have reached my goal!
It's a daily grind and a daily motivation to stay at it: especially of you have a family history like mine: everybody does not understand it and it is a challenge but hey! a little knowledge goes a long way! And we can learn together...
