Today is Grandparents Day and it is celebrated to honor and recognize the contributions of grandparents to families. We also acknowledging all grandparents who are no longer with us. Staff at Autism Connect showed their appreciation for the wisdom, love, and guidance that grandparents provide through inviting them to spend the morning with their grandchild in class, enjoyed a nice warm cup of tea with freshly baked muffins, biscuits and participating in rock painting. Thank you to all who were able to attend AC first Grandparents Day and those who stood in the gap. We appreciate the important role grandparents play in nurturing and shaping the lives of their grandchildren.. Your visit on Friday was a special moment for them. The smiles and excitement on their faces to see their family was priceless Your support and love play a crucial role in the lives of your grandchild, and we are grateful for the positive impact you have on their growth and development. Thank you for your continued love and dedication. Grandparents Rock!! ️

The Mandela Day Campaign message encourages people to use 67 minutes of their time to support a chosen charity or serve in their local community. We want thank Blue Turtle Technologies for choosing Autism Connect. Thank you so mucjfor all the much needed resources received! On behalf of thd learners we wish to thank you also for the yummie snacks received. The smile on their faces say ot all!

Autism Connect, our 67 min contribution for Mandela Day. Handing out hearty warm soup and sandwiches to the community of 7de Laan. Our way of making a difference. The smiles on the adults and children's faces were priceless. Let's continue to make a difference in people's life. Not just today but everyday! 💚🌻

Welcome back, AC learners and Parents! Wishing you a fantastic new term filled with progress, understanding, and support. Your journey is unique and valuable—here's to embracing every opportunity to learn and grow together.

Ac Staff ended the inservice week with Team Building, actively doing Jacobs Ladder challenge that steps is no jokes 🤣 it was such an inspirational walk with fellow staff members to push each other no matter the struggle. What a workout it has been for all! Thereafter they ended the day at Spur restaurant for a scrumptious lunch and great laughter! Thank you Nicolette and Board for making this day possible. Looking forward to our learners return on Monday. Our Motto for the new Term "presume competence "

This past few days has been a hectic busy week of inservice training done at Autism Connect Preperation for the new term, while the AC learners and students at the Autism Connect Skills Centre are on a short well deserved break!! Continuous staff development is one of our components in ensuring we implement best practices within the organisation. Knowledge transfer is an important aspect to ensure there is continuity and organisation mandate is maintained . We are looking forward to seeing our learners next week! Below are pictures of some of the training covered. Thank you to Management and Staff at Autism Connect for their commitment. It is valued.

💥Highlights of Term Two at Autism Connect 💥
Term 2 has been an incredible busy term, marked by significant achievements and growth by our learners at Autism Connect. Throughout the term we continued to provide nurturing and supportive environments for learners. Weekly therapy sessions was conducted, workshops on communication strategies, and a successful community outreach event where we food and clothing were contributed to the community. Despite the challenges of the terrible flu season, we are so proud of learners who made significant strides in their development over the term. We witnessed notable improvements in communication, social skills and toileting. Academic progress was also evident, with increased engagement in learning activities. No matter how slow the progress, at Autism Connect we celebrate all milestones! We extend our gratitude to our dedicated staff and supportive families. Another highlight was when all learners participated in making of lemonade and lavender bath salts. The aroma of lavender filled the centre while soft calming music played in the background. We end the term with an Excursion to Higgledy Piggledy Farm where learners thoroughly enjoyed. Looking ahead to Term 3 where we will continue to build upon the success of Term 2. We wish all our learners a happy and safe holiday!

We are on a short break. We want to wish all AC Learners a wonderful and safe holiday! Centre will reopen on the 8th July 2024.
