It's difficult to not clear every obstacle in our children's path so that they can be happy now.
However, when we clear the road for a child, we make their life too easy.
We don't allow them to build LIFE-COPING SKILLS they'll need down the road to handle life's hard realities.
At the start of this new year we can all find strength in the difficult times we faced last year and in how we all made plans to survive.
My wish for you this year is AWARENESS and INSIGHT as you learn more about yourself and GROWTH as you take that new knowledge and use it to challenge yourself.
Always be aware of your self-talk and remember to be KINDER TO YOURSELF this year.
Wishing you all a great 2022!

What to ask kids instead of "How was your day?"
A psychotherapist says the most mentally strong kids always do these 7 things—and how parents can teach them. They empower themselves. They adapt to change. They know when to say no. They own their mistakes. They celebrate other people's successes. They fail ... and try again. They persist.

A psychotherapist says the most mentally strong kids always do these 7 things—and how parents can teach them As a parents, we often overlook the importance of teaching our kids how to build mental strength. This kind of resilience helps them build character and overcome life's toughest challenges. A therapist explains how to raise mentally tough kids with a growth mindset.
Think of examples where you showed both fixed and growth mindset thinking. Adopting a growth mindset means you are ready to step out of your comfort zone and grow!
Your MINDSET is the sum of your thoughts and beliefs that determine how you make sense of yourself and the world. There are 2 types of mindset. People with a FIXED MINDSET believe that qualities are inborn, fixed and unchangeable. Those with a GROWTH MINDSET, on the other hand, believe that abilities can be developed and strengthened by way of commitment and hard work.
Children with a GROWTH MINDSET tend to see challenges as opportunities to grow because they understand that they can improve their abilities by pushing themselves. If something is hard, they understand it and will push themselves to get better.
