We are excited to let you know that we have teamed up with Elroi Academy to improve our Senior Phase offering. Elroi Academy are specialists in the Gr 10-12 / FET phase and our Gr 8 & 9 students will benefit greatly by the additional support services Elroi Academy offers, not to mention being well prepared for the FET phase and matric.

To ensure that the transition to Elroi’s online portal and support services is smooth and gentle for our families, we would like to invite you to an essential online information meeting to:

Clonard‘s February Book of the Month is “Kaspar: Prince of Cats” by Michael Morpurgo, illustrated by Michael Foreman.

This month, we chose The LEARN Project as part of our Clonard Cares Campaign, a campaign focused on giving back to those in need, with an emphasis on education.

The LEARN Project (LEARN) is a SouthAfrican non-profit trust that reaches out to schools and children in need. Their mission is to equip these schools with reading books and to create sustainable libraries and classroom book corners.

Along with Roslynne Toerien, CEO & Founder of LEARN, we visited two oftheir beneficiary schools in Inanda, KZN – Ekuthuleni Primary School and Kasturba Gandhi Primary School – where we did a handover of Clonard Foundation Phase Teacher Resources that can be used across all of their Grade R-3 classes.

It was a very special and moving morningmeeting the dedicated principals, librarians & teachers and wonderful learners at both of these schools.

Merry Christmas to all our families celebrating this special day. We hope your day is filled with love, kindness and much needed time to relax.

Clonard’s December Book of the Month, reviewed by our very own Virusha Sukhlal, is ”Breathing Underwater” by Sarah Allen.

Olivia and her older sister, Ruth, embark on a cross-country road trip, hoping to recapture the joy and adventure they shared on a similar journey years ago. Olivia is determined to help Ruth overcome her struggles with depression and rediscover the happiness they once shared.

The holiday season is upon us, and it’s a perfect time for families to come together, reflect on the moments that have shaped us in 2023, and prepare for the excitement that 2024 holds.

The past year has brought its share of challenges and triumphs, and through it all, your resilience and strength have been truly inspiring. Now, as we stand on the threshold of a new year, let's carry the lessons learned and the memories made with us.

We heard about Quiniso’s story through his Grandmother, Veronica.

Earlier this year, Quiniso was assessed by an Educational Psychologist at a wonderful remedial school in Durban Livingstone Primary School, who recommended that he apply for Grade 8 at West Ridge High School (LSEN) in Mayville, Durban.

Although excited to be accepted, Quiniso’s family was a bit overwhelmed by the costs.

We decided to help Quiniso out by sponsoring some of what he needed for his new adventure.

We are excited to announce the launch of our Clonard Cares Campaign, a campaign focused on giving back to those in need, with an emphasis on education.

We will be choosing individuals that need a bit of extra help with their schooling in some form or another, as well as non-profit organisations that are already doing their part to make life better for others.

Later this week, we will be sharing our first ‘giving back’ story and we plan to carry the campaign well into 2024.
