GROW with Pretty Palms Educare Centre

Grow with Pretty Palms Educare Centre, in conjunction with The Thrive Institute, will be hosting a FREE 4 day gardening workshop to educate people about growing food for good health.

At Thrive, we have 4 values: Organic Growing; Nutritional Excellence; Natural Medicine and Income Generation.
Under these core values, we have 8 principles of Bio Intensive Agriculture which talks about
Deep soil preparation
Composting
Intensive Planting
Companion Planting
Carbon Farming
Calorie Farming
Open-Pollinated Seeds
Whole system approach.
These are the topics we’ll be focusing on. We’ll spend 8 hours in class (with breaks in between 😊). Our learning will involve theory and practicals. Lessons will start at 8:30am, from Tuesday 14 May to Friday, 17 May.
We only provide training and tools for training purposes. Attendees should provide their own food, a notebook and a pencil.
Certificates of completion will be issued for a hundred percent attendance only.

This week’s theme is “Occupations”. Here is a fun activity that your parents can do with their children at home. It’s time to pretend!

💡Top Tip: Let your child set up their own Bakery Shop and help them learn about occupations, maths and money.

What to do:
🍪Children can use play dough or you can make your own cookie dough.
🍪Use cookie cutters and help your child to make their own biscuits and sweet treats.
🍪Children can also make a sign for the bakery.
🍪Make some paper money and help them to “sell” their biscuits.
