🎉 Our R and RR classes had a wonderful time celebrating Letterland Dress-Up Day! 🎈📚 On Thursday, 1st August, our learners got creative, dressing up as letters of the alphabet.
From letter-themed costumes to outfits incorporating their chosen letters, the creativity was off the charts! 🌟
We loved seeing how each child expressed their letter and engaged with learning in a fun, playful way. Thank you to our parents for your enthusiasm and support! ❤️✨
Throwback to Mandela Day! 🌍 Our learners prepared sandwiches for those in need, embodying the spirit of service and compassion. Together, we can all make a difference.
Our preschool had a blast celebrating PJ Day! 🎉 Our creative mums amazed us with delicious foods starting with the letter ‘P’—think pancakes, pizza, and pineapples! 🥞🍕🍍 Our children thoroughly enjoyed it and were ready for bed by the end of it all. 💤😊
Our Grade 6 learners have been exploring water as a vital resource. They were challenged to design and create a water purification system for rural areas where water is unsafe for consumption. Their innovative solutions are not only cost-effective but also reliable.
🇿🇦 In keeping with current events, our Wonder Academy Preschool learners participated in a voting simulation process to understand the importance of voting and civic participation ahead of tomorrow’s big day.

Our preschool is buzzing with excitment and war cries are echoing in classrooms as the children practice for our Annual Sports Day🏆🥇🥳
We had the honour of hosting author and illustrator Nathi Ngubane on his national book tour with at our primary school. Our learners were captivated by his presentation and left inspired to explore different media to express their ideas and activism.
“From the River to the Sea” is an educational colouring book that opens a window into the story of Palestine. Through a series of stunning illustrations, Soweto-based Nathi Ngubane addresses the injustice of the Nakba, explores the rich history and culture of the land, and introduces young readers to the key concepts of the Palestinian resistance.
The book also encourages young readers to create their own murals and show their support for Palestine.
“I created this activity book with the aim of educating children in South Africa and worldwide about the history of Palestine, the culture of the Palestinian people, and their flora and fauna,” Ngubane said.
It brings us immense joy to announce the winners of our Eco Champion Trophy for weeks 1 and 2 of our recycling drive: Grade 1 and Grade 3. 🏆 Their remarkable efforts and dedication to recycling have set a shining example for us all.
Together, we are making a difference, one recycled item at a time. ♻️ Sustainability
Leaf painting with our preschoolers! A wonderful way to connect with nature while developing fine motor skills and creativity! 🍂 By working with natural objects, children explore textures, shapes, and colours, fostering a deep appreciation for the world around them. 🌿✨
Do your children do chores around the house? 🧹💦
Our Grade 2 learners delved into the world of botany. They learnt the parts of a leaf and various leaf shapes. A fascinating experiment was conducted to see how a leaf breathes which left them in awe of nature’s wonders. Finally, they channeled their creativity into stunning leaf-inspired artwork. Learning, experimenting, and creating - that is the Wonder Academy way! 🍀
A big Thank You to all our preschool grandparents for spending the morning with us.

Thrilled to host Durban-based author Mariam Jhaveri at our preschool for a special reading of her book ‘Nani’s Tricks’ in celebration of World Book Day! 📚
Our Grade 1 learners marked Earth Day by performing a water pollution experiment and discussing methods to address it, aligning with this year’s theme “Planet vs Plastics.” The learners shared insightful observations during the discussion 🌍🍀
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! 🌱 Our Environmentalist Club embraced the recycling theme by crafting flower pots from 2-liter coke bottles. These pots were beautifully decorated with newsprint decoupage, then filled with snake plants—a gift for each class to promote indoor air purification.
Our grade 3 learners dived into a world of tactile wonder making a non-Newtonian fluid called ‘Oobleck’. Through hands-on experimentation, the learners honed in their observation skills discovering that oobleck is a solid and liquid. Curious minds asked ‘What happens if we add more than the recipe entails? It was a messy lesson of fun and exploration.

Received an unexpected blueprint for modifications and improvements of our Rabbit hutch from one of our learners, and it epitomised what Montessori-inspired education is all about. Empowering learners to take the lead and contribute meaningfully, treating our school as a microcosm of the world with its own institutions, challenges and opportunities. Excited to meet with the learners to explore these innovative ideas further!

The Grade 5 learners have been learning about vertebrates as part of the Nst curriculum. To extend on their learning, learners had to design a human skeleton using various materials such as sticks, earbuds, straws, etc. The Grade 5s have done an exceptional job showcasing their creativity and knowledge to make their skeletons.
Today being the 29th February - A leap Year day that only comes once every 4 years - was a very special day. We celebrated in style!
