Earlier today the Social Programme Secretary, Major Noluntu Semeno, together with Major Colleen Huke accompanied by Major Magdalene Mugama visited Regae Preschool of Hope in Pretoria to hand each child a scarf, hat, and cupcake.
The officers then paid a visit to Beth-Shan, Shelter for Abused Women and their Children, where they were shown around the premises, viewed the programs that are run on the premises, and saw how some of the residents participated in some of the programs, like sewing.
They then visited a Youth Centre that has a long standing relationship with the Army. The Social Programme Secretary brought awareness to the youth about and the work of TSA around, they then shared in fellowship.

The Salvation Army and Old Mutual South Africa joined forces in a heartwarming collaboration to make a difference in the lives of our homeless community. The Territory Commander, Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, and the Managing Director of Old Mutual Corporate were present - personally handing out clothes, dishing warm meals, and interacting with our homeless neighbours.
As winter’s icy grip settles in, we recognize that it’s not just the homeless who face desperate circumstances. Families, individuals, and children across our nation are struggling to stay warm and nourished.
There’s hope! Together, we can provide warmth and sustenance. By donating to our Winter Warmth Drive, you’ll be giving the gift of a cozy blanket, a nourishing meal, and perhaps an item of warm clothing.

Our story
When fiery Methodist evangelist William Booth decided in 1865 that he could no longer preach the Christian Gospel to the poor and wretched of England unless he also put food into their stomachs, he probably did not imagine that the movement he started would grow into a worldwide organisation. Today, nearly 150 years later, The Salvation Army is trusted and recognised throughout the globe, providing a unique blend of evangelism and service to people in more than 127 countries through 175 languages. Our worldwide evangelical Christian church has its own distinctive governance and practice following the mainstream of the Christian faith, with articles of faith that emphasise God’s saving purposes. Booth’s simply philosophy of “Heart to God, hand to man” remains as vital and relevant in our society today as it was all those years ago, and continues to guide the work of our organisation. Our special concern for the poor, the neglected and the marginalised, and our determination to uphold social justice is motivated by our love of God.
