Play Sense

Dinosaurs 🦕 has to be one of my most favourite themes! So much fun to be had 🤩

At Play Sense we learn to help each other, one little friend helping the other to get dressed as a chef 👨‍🍳 and then we practise taking turns to act out the role of chef and customer 🙌💓

When it’s this hot - there’s only one thing to do 💦 💦 💦

This week has been so much fun 🤩 our new theme is The Sky and the focus this week is on the weather. We had fun playing on a ‘rainy’ (hosepipe) day, created a rain-making station, today we had a sunny weather ‘beach’ day and made lots of sandcastles, puff paint ice cream art and yummy ice lollies for snack time 🏖🌈☔️

Chia seed slime sensory play 😍

This week our BUG THEME will be focused on Spiders 🕷
Our songs, art, imaginary play and sensory play will be centred around these eight-legged creatures. Tomorrow we’ll be starting with this fun string play and fine motor activity

Sensory play - Rice Krispies and plastic bugs 🐛🐜🐞 incorporating language development by playing eye spy and practising our colours and growing our vocabulary.

Sensory play and learning fun is good for any age! Today we learned about the butterfly life cycle using different shaped pastas 🦋 Then my older (primary school age niece) insisted on learning to cook pasta today because it looked so pretty. Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ pasta for lunch 🤤

It’s Butterfly week - so of course that means we’ll be reading ’The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ 🐛

Today, we will be saving the bees hidden in the sand and returning them to the safety of their (eggbox) hive 💓

And having fun making honey using pollen (sago) and nectar (yellow water) 🐝

This week for the ‘My Town’ theme we have been train and bus drivers 😁 look at this masterpiece 🖼

Our caterpillar tunnel became a Doctor/Vet too this morning 💓 Play = Learning 🎉

This week we started on our ‘My Town’ theme and the focus this week is on Builders - look how much fun we are already having 😁

Today we spent some time breaking and ‘defrosting’ frozen fruit to have breakfast and now we are setting up a real braai to have burgers for lunch 🍔 🤤 🏕

It’s the last week of our Jungle Theme and the sub-theme is Camping 🏕 today we painted campfires for art, exploring red/orange and yellow, we set up our camp and we washed the dishes after ’breakfast’ and ‘lunch’

After having to close our little group for a week - I could not be more excited to see my little friends today! Ready to play 😁🎉😀

Being co-regulators and helping little one’s deal with their emotions is such an important part of what we do 💓

We ended off our Farm Theme with a visit to CrazyKidz Farmyard - much fun was had by all!

Tomorrow we start our 4th and final week of our Farm Theme 👩‍🌾 this week our focus is on The Milkman, and Sweetie The Cow is ready for milking 😁 🐄

Today we had a visit from a vet! we even had a chance to use a real stethoscope and listen to his adorable puppy’s heartbeat 💓 what a treat! Thank you Dr. Roelof!

I can’t wait to welcome my little friend’s to Teacher Bron’s Farm tomorrow 🥰
