Did you know that the piriformis muscle is one of the most important muscles for hip stability and mobility?🤔

It helps you rotate your leg outward and inward. When this muscle is tight or overworked, it can cause pain and stiffness in your lower back, hips & down your legs. Just a friendly reminder.😊

While a temporary rest period (24-72 hours) can be beneficial at times to allow an acute injury to calm down, the majority of your focus should be on finding ways to keep moving by modifying aggravating movements.

If you don’t begin moving, your tissues won’t develop the capacity to accommodate stress and will quickly become deconditioned.

Don’t just decide to stop moving completely if you are in pain. The problem needs to be solved. Not just the symptoms.

Find a Biokineticist to help you manage your symptoms and the daily activities that may contribute to the issue.

RESISTANCE TRAINING FOR WOMEN MYTHS🙄🤦‍♀️

Myths:
1. Weight lifting will make you big and bulky.
2. Women shouldn’t lift heavy weights because it’s dangerous.
3. Women can’t lose weight through lifting.
4. It’s a guy thing.

Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a group of muscular diseases caused by gene mutations resulting in muscle weakness, reducing mobility over time, making daily tasks difficult. There are several types of muscular dystrophy, each affecting a different muscle group and causing signs and symptoms to appear at different ages and severity levels.

Muscular dystrophy can run in families, or a person may be the first in their family to be diagnosed. Within each type of muscular dystrophy, there may be several different genetic types, and people with the same type of muscular dystrophy may experience different symptoms.
