FUNDING CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR MICRO-FINANCE LOAN
PROPOSALS TO UNDERTAKE BUSINESS INVESTMENTS WITH MICRO-CREDIT FUNDING FROM THE CITIZENS ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT FUND (CEEF).
The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has introduced a security-free, affordable and easily accessible micro-finance loan called ‘CEEC Busulu Loan’ targeting individual MSMEs in ALL sectors with specific bias towards youths and women-led MSMEs in rural and peri-urban areas.
The Commission is now inviting loan applications between K5, 000 and K50, 000, from interested targeted individuals (start-ups and existing enterprises) to enable them start or expand their businesses.
Higher loan amounts within the loan threshold will be subjected to further due diligence to determine financing needs.
The Busulu Loan attracts eight (8) percent interest per annum and the maximum loan tenure is twelve (12) months.
APPLICATION PROCESS

2. All duly completed application forms should be submitted at the nearest Provincial CEEC Office for processing.
3. Applicants with active CEEC loans are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for this micro-finance facility until they fully repay their loan.
4. Applicants must provide a valid mobile number linked to their name to enable disbursement of funds via mobile money platforms.
5. Applications that do not follow the stated format will NOT BE ACCEPTED.
DEADLINE: Unless stated otherwise by the Commission, this loan product will NOT be subjected to a closing date as financing will be made on a rolling basis.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
All African Union Commission (AUC) Wise Youth Network are hereby invited to send in applications for the 1st Cohort Of The Network Of African Youth In Conflict Prevention And Mediation (Wise Youth Network).
Despite the deadline having passed, SADC secretariat has advised that eligible youths who meet the underlying criteria for the network still apply but do so as soon as possible.

Introduction
To promote the important role of youth for peacemaking efforts on the African continent, with focused and strategic engagement of youth in preventive diplomacy, mediation and dialogue across the Continent, the fourth cohort of the Panel of the Wise proposed the establishment of a Network of African Youth in Conflict Prevention and Mediation (Wise Youth Network), which was endorsed by the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2022 through decision (Assembly/AU/Dec.815( # # ).
The Wise Youth Network, as a subsidiary mechanism to the Panel of the Wise, under the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA), contributes to strengthening the role of youth in conflict prevention, mediation and dialogue efforts, and provides a platform for strategic advocacy, capacity building and networking, while striving to actualize the commitment for youth inclusion in peace-making in Africa.
Members of the Wise Youth Network, shall amongst others, be engaged in various activities including advocacy for increased participation of youth as leaders, partners, implementers and beneficiaries of preventive diplomacy, mediation, and dialogue efforts; Enhance the capacities (including training, mentorships/fellowship, and peer-learning) of
members to facilitate operational readiness for deployment in preventive diplomacy, mediation, and dialogue interventions among others.
The Wise Youth Network, while maintaining gender parity, is expected to comprise of twenty (20) members, with four members (two male and two female) from each of the five regions, with the specific expertise in thematic areas related to preventive diplomacy, mediation and dialogue.
The selected Wise Youth members will also work closely with the AU Youth Envoy and the African Youth Ambassadors for Peace (AYAPs), to ensure coordination and complementarity of efforts.

Criteria and Qualification:
Application is open to all African Youth with demonstrated and documented experience in conflict prevention, mediation and dialogue at all levels. Applications from eligible youth, including young women, displaced persons and persons with disabilities who meet the following criteria are particularly encouraged:
• Identity: Youth of African Citizenship living in Africa;
• Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree is required;
• General Experience: Demonstrable results or credible proof of three (3) years’ experience in conflict prevention, mediation and dialogue is required, based on 2 -3 examples of concrete actions taken in the promotion of peace processes or facilitating multi-stakeholders dialogue;
• Language: Working proficiency in a minimum of one official AU language (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Swahili, Spanish);
• Age: Between 18 and 35 for the entire duration of their tenure;
• Availability: be willing to undertake deployment and participate in various activities on behalf of the Network upon request;
The tenure of each cohort of WiseYouth will be for a period of three (3) years, non-renewable, to allow an opportunity for other young people with requisite expertise to aspire and serve in the Network.

The Action Days will bring together actors from civil society, private sector, academia, local and regional authorities, creative communities, youth, and many more. The purpose is to generate additional actions and commitments from all actors, to inspire and amplify relevant initiatives, and to increase the chances that the Summit produces sustained momentum on key issues. In addition, the Action Days will launch a new mode of engagement with youth – to elevate their voices and drive meaningful engagement in the issues that affect them, their futures and future generations of youth through a dedicated half-day of programming on Friday 20 September led by the UN Youth Office.

Nkandu lobbies for scholarships for the Zambian youth from France
Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Honourable Elvis Chishala Nkandu has proposed for Zambian youths to travel to France for knowledge and information sharing.
Speaking when he met his excellency the French Ambassador to Zambia Mr. Thomas Rossignol on the possible areas of cooperation between the republic of Zambia and the French government, Honourable Nkandu also proposed the establishment of art galleries.
Honourable Nkandu lobbied that the French government can consider giving Zambian Youths scholarship programmes for long and short term in all disciplines of youth, sport and arts.
“This meeting presents a very unique opportunity for ourselves to strengthen our partnerships in light of the changing dynamics in the areas of youth, sport and arts. The following are areas of collaboration the ministry proposes,” he said.
“Capacity building programmes and technical support for youths in agriculture in the youth resettlement schemes for the ministry, exchange of information on the management of youth empowerment programmes, exchange of experts and information on skills development programmes for the youth and exchange visits for youth clubs or organisations in the area of technology.”
With regard to sports development, Honourable Nkandu proposed capacity building programmes for coaches and sports administrators as one of the areas of collaboration.
“Exchanges of experts and information on talent identification programmes and exchange of experts and information on the promotion of community sport programmes as well as exchange of experts on infrastructure development for sports facilities and sports events management,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the area of arts, the Minister called for support for information, communication and technology equipment and services.
“Exchange of experts, information and visits by institutions dealing in arts and exchange of experts and information on monitoring and evaluation of youth, sport and art development programmes as well as benchmarking visits on the development of youth, sport and arts programmes plus scholarship programmes for long and short term in all disciplines of youth, sport and arts,” Honourable Nkandu said.
