Hello everyone! I hope that the new year is treating you well! I wanted to share some yoga class news for the start of 2023. I will be taking a little break from my weekly classes but still teaching with Bumblebee Yoga. Check out the class schedule in this post which outlines the dates that I will be on the mat and what incredible classes Leah and Hayley have planned.
I think most of you know but I am studying for my Diploma of Counselling and I have decided to take some more time to focus on this in the coming months. My ultimate goal is to create a holistic wellness centre, integrating and offering counselling services, health coaching, yoga classes and meditation teachings. A one stop place for all things wellness 🙌🥰. So watch this space! I could not be more grateful for all of the heartwarming support that I received last year with setting up Emma Kate Lifestyle, and trust me when I say that this is only the beginning 🌿💚.

🌿 Authenticity Retreat 2022 🌿
Such a wholesome way to start the new year with Bumblebee Yoga and Hayley Morton running our first yoga and wellbeing retreat.
Throughout the weekend we facilitated a range of yoga classes, meditation sessions and workshops where we explored authenticity, self-compassion and wellbeing practices. We took a moment to pause and reflect on our values and set meaningful goals for 2023 and beyond while learning what we need to create a happy life for ourselves. As a group we connected on a deep level and created genuine friendships. Reminding ourselves that self-care isn't something we do, it's something we live 💚

What a special time it’s been. I started the year with a dream of becoming a yoga teacher and ended the year living my passion having taught over 25 classes. I wanted to thank everyone for their incredible support, my heart is so full of gratitude and love for all of you! Bumblebee Yoga thank you for having me teach and always believing in me 🥰.
To end the year, tomorrow night I wanted to explore the concept of dharma, our own unique purpose in this world. When our lives align with our dharma, it brings us a sense of peace, happiness and fulfillment. Connecting to ourselves through the yoga practice is a pathway to unlocking or rediscovering our dharma 🙏.

Yoga practice brings kindness to the heart 💙.
Being kind to yourself, to others and surrounding yourself with people who are also kind has a profound effect on our physical and mental health. All forms of kindness generate a feel-good hormone in our bodies called oxytocin or the ‘kindness hormone’. Tomorrow night I have a beautiful hip opening class to share with you. Our hips are an area in our bodies that hold a lot of stress and built up emotions. When we open up the hips it invites a powerful energetic shift and release in our body. A hip-opening yoga practice allows us to let go on a physical and mental level while creating a sense of clarity, freedom and vitality from within ✨.

These passes are cheaper than a once off Casual Pass and allow you the freedom to pick and choose when you want to come to class!
5x Flexi Class Pass - $70 (valid for 3 months)
10 x Flexi Class Pass - $140 (valid for 6 months)
(Casual passes are always available at $15 per class)

The Power of Meditation 🔍
We spend so much of our day thinking about the future, the past and the external world, meditation brings us back to the present and shines a spotlight back into ourselves. Through this practice we have the power to positively influence ourselves on a physical, mental and soul level 🙏.
There is so much more to meditation than what meets the eye. Physically the practice of meditation lowers blood pressure, increases heart function, improves our immune system, balances hormone production and assists with sleep 😴.
On a cellular level meditation has the ability to actually increase life expectancy by giving us control over our own cells and gene expression 🧬!
It has the power to decrease anxiety and depression, improve memory, attention and increases our ability to feel empathy, love and happiness ❤️.
When we find space to connect with ourselves in this way it unlocks our deepest passions, values and aspirations in life as well as positively shifts the way that we think 🤗.

Saturday morning pancakes 🍓
One of my favourite things to do is make pancakes on a slow weekend morning. Not all pancakes are unhealthy and just because it's healthy doesn't mean it needs to lack yumminess. It’s what they are made of and what you add on top that can turn this breaky into one your body will thank you for and will keep you coming back for more!
I make almond and buckwheat pancakes, the easy to make mix can be found at Woolies in the health food section (Mt. Elephant) and then throw on the following delicious and healthy toppings!
▪️ Raw organic honey
(antioxidant & antibacterial)🍯
▪️Yogurt
(probiotic, super food for gut health)
▪️Peanut Butter
(a healthy fat, contains B vitimans, protein and magnesium, boosts heart health) 🥜
▪️Your choice of seasonal fruits (floods your body with essential nutrients and vitamins) 🫐🍌
▪️Your choice of crushed nuts
(Almonds, walnuts, peacan & brazil are all good options. Nuts contain huge amounts of essential minerals and healthy fats to aid your body in every single way!)
▪️Cacao nibs
(aids immune function, lowers blood pressure, source of iron)
▪️Crushed Lin/Flax seeds
(high in omega 3 – healthy fat, aids brain function, lowers inflammation)
▪️Hemp seeds
(digestible protein - contains all essential amino acids, aids bone health)
▪️Chia seeds
(high in fibre - promotes intestinal and heart health, source of calcium)
▪️Sunflower seeds
(contains essential minerals selenium, iron and calcium, lowers blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar) 🌻
▪️Pumpkin/Pepita seeds
(high in antioxidants, great source of magnesium and fibre)
