Help me attend Phoenix World Burn Congress 2023, organized by Tianna-Joy King 26/05/2023

https://gofund.me/11c43f00

My new client was burned to 75% of her body as a toddler. Her heart, resilience and strength is an inspiration.

She had a sponsor pull out last minute for her next trip to spend time in the USA alongside others and learn about new treatment options and advancement in treatments and spend time with her extended network of friends. It's an event of healing and growing. It's massively important to her and her family to attend.

I've encouraged her to reach out for help and that's it's OK to ask for help so she has set this up with encouragement from myself.

I've got approval to share her story.

Please share to your network friends.

Hey All 👋

I've begun the process to ask for support for my local council to build a fully accessable community garden.

But we need to show that people would support and or use the garden.

Please join and show your support. I'll be updating the group as I hear back from the Marion Council re my application.

I'll also need to find local businesses to help donate and support by helping build this as well as seek additional support to have the ability to build and grow this.

I'm picturing chickens, big plots people can lease to grow in, a place to put excess foods to help those in need and a focus on local cultural and native foods.

I picture sessions with local schools to come and plant their own seedlings, pick eggs, and fundraise for local families doing it tough.

I have too many ideas to write down. ✍️

But you get the gist.

Hi Team,

I am potentially looking at hiring.

I want to ensure I am growing organically and want to keep my caseload low so I have the time to mentor and hire the right person or persons.

I am happy to train someone up who hasn't worked in this role pending they are willing to listen and learn.

But I am in absolutely no rush, it has to be the right fit for me and someone who compliments my experience with opposite skills.

If you're interested please inbox me. 😄

Oooooh what an idea!

[Image Description: A post by glorythreadz (with a z) Now everyone's coming back in to the office, we've upgraded our lanyards so we all know we're comfortable. (🙌). The accompanying photograph, shows three containers of brightly-colored neck lanyards for ID cards and such. Each has a sign with text in a corresponding color. Red: Hi! I'm keeping my distance. Orange: Okay with talking but not touching. Green: Okay with hugs and high-fives. A faint watermark says British Memes. End ID].

When I talk about going above and beyond I mean it. These aren't just buzz words for me.

I also practice what I preach.

Today my wonderful client finished a detox program.

I welcomed them home with a gift of a plant to care for and nurture and some basic groceries to fill the fridge and pantry.

Because no one wants to have to go shopping when getting out of hospital.

It's the little things that make all the difference.

We're here to change lives and I mean that with every ounce of my being.

Blessed to be able to give back. 🙏

Hi all,

My name is Bonnie and I am an NDIS coordinator with current and immediate capacity in 2023

I believe in the right fit for each participants needs and as such I keep my caseload low and have extensive experience in the following;

* SIL and AT mobility supports/aids/Wheelchairs - electirc and manual/Walkers
* Home Mods applications
* ASD/ABI/stroke/dementia/MS/ Huntingtons/CP/lung disease
* Glaucoma and other sight related concerns either partial or full blindness.
* Down syndrome and other rarer conditions such as Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome and other disorders that affect cognitive ability
* Children's plans and first plans whereby the funding is horrendous and a proven track record to rectify this and increase funding.
* Pallative/end of life experience navigating the mainstream and NDIS obligations to advocate for your choice and control to pass as you wish despite the heavy pushed from mainstream to be hospitalised in order to do so.

I am happy to discuss your individual needs free of charge to discuss if I am the right fit for you. If I don't feel I am the right fit I have a team of qualified and experienced and well respected SC's in the sector to refer you onto whom I can personally reccomend and have worked with so I know their ethics and approaches to reccommend the right person for you.

I believe in a team approach and that alll parties should work together effectively to support you to reach your goals.

I also look to reccomend other alternative supports both mainstream or otherwise in order to support you, I don't believe NDIS is the be all and end all of supports and as such have an extensive network of those ready to support you with whatever you need support with and ideas and options across many sectors including health, religious, food and financial supports, training, schooling and adult education and employment.

If this sounds like the SC for you either comment below or please email me on;

Government to replace
Administrative Appeals Tribunal
Attorney General Mark Dreyfus has announced today that the Albanese Government plans to abolish the AAT over the next two years and replace it with a new body to deal with administrative appeals.
In the meantime, 75 additional tribunal members will be appointed to address the backlog of cases. There will also be $11.7m dedicated to an ‘single streamlined case management’ system over the next two years.
Very little is known at this stage about what the new body will look like. But the Attorney General did commit to it being ‘accessible, sustainable and trusted administrative review tribunal that serves the interests of the Australian people.’ He also said the new body would be properly funded and implied it would resolve cases in a more timely manner.
In explaining the decision, Dreyfus said:
‘The AAT’s public standing has been irreversibly damaged as a result of the actions of the former government over nine years. By appointing 85 former Liberal MPs, former Liberal staffers and other close Liberal associates without any merit-based selection process, including some individuals with no relevant experience or expertise, the former government fatally compromised the AAT, undermined its independence, and eroded the quality and efficiency of its decision-making.’
Dreyfus said that a central pillar of the new body is that there will be transparent merits-based appointment process.

Hi Team,

Looking at taking on additional Support Coordination clients in the New Year.

I will be deliberately keeping my client base small for quality service to each participant and looking at expanding as required.

Looking forward to assisting you with your NDIS plan.

Could not have said it better myself!

NDIS Providers, let's talk 7-day/short-notice cancellations.

It is important for you to understand the full context of the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Limits in relation to your practice and to your business. But first some insight.....

Over the past week, on more than one occasion, our participants have been issued with new or adjusted Service Agreements that include a 7-day short notice cancellation policy. Providers are saying that it is the 'recommendation' of the NDIS to include this.

BE CLEAR, it is not.

We are here to support our participants to reach their goals with the intention for them to live an 'ordinary life'.

Please tell me how by billing 100% of a participant's fees for 7 days or less notice, is setting them up for success?

I understand we have businesses to run, but we also have a responsibility to the participants, the sustainability and the integrity of the scheme....

QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

** Is the way you are implementing short-notice cancellations legal?

** Is it ethically appropriate?

** Does it fit within the standards of the scheme and your commitment to the outcomes for your participants?

** Can you fill that spot with OTHER BILLABLE work?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NOTE:

FIRSTLY. At NO time does the NDIS 'recommend' OR 'advise' providers on their pricing structures or cancellation standards.

SECONDLY. As a business, regardless of being a sole trader or a fully fledged enterprise, you make the decisions and set the standards for your business. This is not the role of the NDIA.

CANCELLATION GUIDELINES: Within the Pricing Arrangements, under 'General Claiming Rules' there are stipulations in relation to short-notice. Did you know that all of these conditions need to be met? Please pay particular attention to the last dot point:

"Providers can only claim from a participant’s plan for a Short Notice Cancellation of the delivery of a support item to the participant if all of the following conditions are met:

· The NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits indicates that providers can claim for Short Notice Cancellations in respect of that support item; and

· The proposed charges for the activities comply with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits; and

· The provider has the agreement of the participant in advance (that is, the service agreement between the participant and provider should specify that Short Notice Cancellations can be claimed); and

· The provider was not able to find alternative billable work for the relevant worker and are required to pay the worker for the time that would have been spent providing the support."

So I ask you to be careful and considerate when you are applying a short-notice cancellation policy.

Let's work together to ensure we continue to support a sustainable NDIS?

Cassie.

PS. If you are a participant, nominee or caregiver - please ALWAYS read that service agreement.

If you want things changed or explained in your service agreement, that is okay too.
