Happy International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD)!

This yearโ€™s theme is โ€˜Fighting for rights in the post-COVID era'. This year, we are celebrating the challenges, barriers and opportunities for people who live with disabilities, in the context of a global pandemic.

What's happening at Fairhands?
This year we're taking some time out to ask ourselves how we can rally with our clients and fight for the rights of people with disability post COVID-19.
We are engaging our staff with video content on recognising the challenges faced by people with disability in a post pandemic world. We want to encourage and equip our staff to reflect on what they can do to create a more inclusive Australia.

So what can YOU do in your local area to create a more inclusive Australia?
1. Research and share about the barriers faced by people living with disability in our world today.
2. Advocate for ways we can continue to grow the NDIS sector so that one day all of society only sees ability.
3. Research and share about the achievements of people with disability.
4. Take time today to talk to people living disability and learn from their experiences.
5. Donate, donate, donate! Your local disability organisations could use the love!
