Today is a powerful reminder to check in on those around us. As healthcare professionals, we know the importance of being present, listening, and offering support, not only for our patients but also for colleagues and friends who may be facing challenges.

This year’s theme ‘Ask R U OK? Any Day’ reinforces the importance of trust, authenticity, and providing a safe space for these conversations, any day of the year.

Our hospital is taking a moment to listen and support each other, and help create a stronger, more connected healthcare community—because sometimes, a simple question can change everything.

🌟 Supporting Our Local Community 🌟

We recently had the pleasure of sponsoring the FIDA - Football Integration Development Association at Insight Private Hospital, supporting "all abilities." 🌟 FIDA provides training, support, networking, and mentorship for young adults with disabilities, offering extraordinary access to the game of Australian Rules Football 🏉 for those with intellectual disabilities.

We were honoured to be part of this incredible event, providing medals 🏅 for all 33 players. It was a day filled with excitement, a huge crowd 👏, and plenty of media attention—a truly special moment for our community. Our General Manager & Director of Nursing, Jenny, was on hand to help present the medallions, cheering on the players as they received their awards. 🎉

Celebrating World Ophthalmology Day! 👁️

Each year on August 8th, we honour Soviet ophthalmologist Svyatoslav Fyodorov, whose ground-breaking contributions to eye surgery have shaped modern ophthalmology 💚

Today, cataract and glaucoma surgeries are among the most successful procedures worldwide, offering immense benefits particularly to Australians. These surgeries are essential in helping our seniors maintain their independence.

Our hospital 🏥 takes immense pride in the work our ophthalmologists perform. Their complex clinical and surgical skills in preserving and restoring vision make a visible difference in the lives of patients every day. You can meet the team by visiting our website: https://www.nexushospitals.com.au/specialists/

Living with pain? You're not alone. 1 in 5 Australians deal with daily pain. Navigating pain management is a complex journey.

National Pain Week is dedicated to improving chronic pain management, and our hospital 🏥 couldn’t be prouder to support this initiative. This year’s theme, “painchanger,” aims to reduce the barriers faced by those living with chronic pain.

Having the right treatment options and support services can be true pain changers. Start by talking to your GP 🩺. Understanding your pain and working closely with your doctor can change how you manage it. A specialist pain physician can also offer further support, using a blend of medical, psychological, and social strategies to restore balance and help manage pain more effectively.

Our hospital partners with pain management specialists to provide our local community with personalised, patient-centred care 💚. Visit our website for more information 👇

🚨 It's Time Out July at our Hospital! 🚨

Our facility is 100% committed to providing the highest standards of patient safety.

That's why our hospital team participates in an annual Time Out July event as a safety measure to make sure that our patients receive the proper checks before surgery.

A surgical "time-out" is the surgical team's short pause, just before incision, to run through a safety checklist, confirming that they are performing the correct procedure on the correct body part of the correct patient. Following the correct procedures prior to surgery prevents complications. 🏥✅

This simple exercise brings together our valued Doctors and dedicated operating teams. In recognition of their support, all Doctors participating in Time Out July receive a free round of coffee for their entire theatre team! ☕️

Our Interim Chief Operating Officer, Ian Grisold is participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout on June 29th in Melbourne.

This event brings together prominent business leaders across many industries to raise awareness and funds for homelessness. 🌟 It’s a night where CEOs, senior executives, and community leaders trade their warm, comfortable beds for just a sleeping bag and a piece of cardboard, experiencing a glimpse of the harsh realities that thousands of Australians endure every night.

"It's crucial that we, as business leaders, step up to raise awareness and support those in need." says Ian.

One night in the winter cold can change the lives of people facing homelessness, and the Vinnies CEO Sleepout has already had a monumental impact:

✅ 1,979,673 people have been assisted
🛏️ 689,819 people have been offered a bed
🍽️ 1,159,054 people have been given a meal

Nexus are proud to be supporting Ian. But he needs your help! By sharing this post and contributing to his fundraising page, we can all make a significant impact in the fight against homelessness 📣

Now equipped with seven modern operating theatres and eight all private, deluxe patient rooms, Pacific Private Hospital has transformed from a day only facility into a leading, short-stay hospital.

Our operating theatres embody the highest safety and clinical standards for patients and clinicians, while the expansion to offering inpatient care provides Gold Coast residents with improved local access to treatment across an expanded array of services, including ophthalmology, plastic & reconstructive surgery, endoscopy, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopaedic surgery, and Mohs micrographic skin surgery.
