🔴Fortune makes four for Demons⚫️
Where else would you rather be this summer than at White Hills it seems as we welcome Josh Ansell to Scott Street for season 24/25!
Josh is a big, fast, opening bowler who is sure to have batsman ducking and swaying with the new pill.
Josh comes to us having spent least season alongside fellow recruit Jacob Beattie at Rovers United Bruck CC. Josh compiled a very impressive season taking 24 wickets at 17.71 and amassing over 200 runs. Josh also snared 5/20 in the semi-final!
We cant wait to see Josh steaming in this season!
🔴White Hills all Welsh-ed Up⚫️
‘Another one!’- DJ Khaled
Wiser words rarely said as we lock away and announce our third signing for season 24/25!
We welcome Kyle Welsh to demon land for the season ahead. Kyle is an aggressive wicket-keeper batsman who boasts an impressive resume with the bat. Last season Kyle amassed 742 runs at a healthy average of 37.10 with a highest score of 116. He doesn’t mind finding the fence either with a 100 boundaries and 16 sixes!
We can’t wait to see him dismantle opposition bowling attacks this summer!
🔴Marshall makes his way to Scott Street⚫️
We said there was more and who are we to keep you waiting any longer? 🤷♂️
Join us as we welcome Jake Marshall to the red and black for season 24/25!
Jake is a tall, fast opening bowler from Warmsworth Cricket Club where he is there leading wicket taker thus far with 23 @ 18 a piece! 😮
We can’t wait to see him send down the leather Kookaburra this summer!
🔴BEATTIE THE DEMON⚫️
Here it is. The first of many.
Recruit number one for season 24/25!
We are stoked to welcome Jacob Beattie to Scott Street. Jacob is a tall fast bowler, middle order batsman and all-round genuine good bloke!
No stranger to the red and black having played some T20s game last season and a regular at trainings during the week, we are keen to see Jacob send the off peg cartwheeling of opposition batsmen.
With career average of over 22 with the bat and 15 with the ball, with best figures of 6/15, coaches Schultz and Bowles have locked away a key piece of the puzzle for season 24/25!
As always… Go Hillies! 🔴⚫️

‘Spin to win and tons a plenty sees another Demon Day’
Saturday saw round 3 draw to a close with the Thirds, Seconds and First XI all recording big wins.
Our Third XI did the job on day one with the ball in hand, bowling Golden Square out for 86. All bowlers got in on the action, James Fearn taking 3/7 and Lucas ‘Ricey’ Rice claiming his first senior wicket the standouts! Our batting innings got off to a shaky start, losing two wickets before the close of play on day one. Enter Ben Drechsler (87*) and Mitch Davey (25), who combined for a match-winning partnership on day two to secure the six points.
Our Second XI chased 202 to take the six points against Sandhurst. Nick Wallace continued his good form with 65, including 11 boundaries. But it was Ollie Geary who belted a matching winning century of 123 off 90 deliveries, including 12 fours and 6 sixes. Earlier on day one, it was Nick Lowes who did the damage with the ball in hand taking 4/48 off his 17 overs.
Our First XI had a big win, with a strong all-round performance with bat and ball. On day one, it was captain Brayden Stepien who did the damage as he carved 158 off 189 deliveries with 18 fours and 3 sixes. He was partnered well by Caleb Barras (30). Rhys Irwin also cashed in late to be 58* off 57 balls. Day two saw our English import, Max Shepherd, put on a clinic with the ball. Max finished the day with 18 overs, 13 maidens, 2/11 as our A grade cruised to a 192-run win.
Our Women’s First XI's last two games see them with a record of 2-2 after four games. A strong win in round three saw Letesha Bawden continue her strong form with 63 off 61 deliveries including 9 boundaries. Layla O’Brien stared with the ball taking 3/4 to see us home by 43 runs. Round 4 saw us go down to Bendigo by 9 wickets.
Ovee Bhuyan was on fire for our Fourth XI as they went down to Maiden Gully in their latest game. 3/40 with the ball and 68 with the bat wasn't enough to see them over the line.
Next round sees us take on Kangaroo Flat. Firsts are at home, Seconds at Dower Park and our Thirds face Eaglehawk at home.

‘A Demon Day and a Deserving Hundred to a Devoted Demon’
Four wins in all four senior grades is exactly what the doctor ordered after a tough start in round one.
Our Third XI cruised to victory after a classy 83 from Nick Wallace and solid contributions from Jack Maher 32* and Pat ‘President’ Egan 33. A successful run chase was made possible with a strong day one with the ball. New recruit, James Fern, starring with the ball taking 4/29.
The Second XI were chasing outright points on day two after a blistering Xav Dunham 70 late on day one secured first innings points. His knock included 8 fours and 2 sixers and came in just 58 balls. Earlier, Second XI debutant, Harshil Arora took 3/21 and was partnered by Nick Lowes with 4/14. An outright win wasn't meant to be as Huntly batted out the day to finish 7/149.
A match-winning ton, to life-long demon Rhys Irwin, was the highlight as our First XI took home 6 points yesterday. With the game in the balance coming in at 4/90, Rhys pulled on 21 boundaries and a six on his way to 111. A fine, hard-fought knock at the top of the order to Ben Irvine, 74, with 14 boundaries of his own, saw his team over the line. Earlier, on day one, English recruit Max Shepherd was the leading wicket-taker with 3/26, supported by young gun Angus Obrien 2/18.
Our Women’s First XI got their first win of the season against Strathdale earlier today. A brilliant 60* off 64 deliveries from Jessy Matthews which included 10 boundaries saw us finish with 5/139. A bowling clinic from skipper, Letesha Bawden, saw her finish with 3/11, continuing her strong start to the year after posting a 50 at the top of the order in round one.
Well done to all who donned the red and black over the weekend!
A match winning 100 for Rhys Irwin!! Super knock!
Congratulations to our very own leg-spinning sensation Angus O’Brien on being selected for the U16 Dowling Shield side for Greenvale! Awesome achievement and reward for an incredibly hard-working Demon 🔴⚫️
🔴ROUND ONE WRAP⚫
After a strong day one for our First and Second XI, day 2 proved a little more of a challenge with all senior grades going down to BUCCS.
A strong debut performance from ‘Nales’ as he had the ball on a string on his way to 4/24 including 11 maidens! Congratulations also to Max Shepherd and Thomas Piazza on making their First XI debuts.
The Second XI had a strong day with the bat on day one to post 225 but it wasn't enough as BUCCS chased it down with plenty to spare. Our Third XI kicked off their season with a one-day game. It saw the return of Nick Wallace who put on a clinic with bat and ball. His efforts weren't quite enough as we went down by 17 runs. Our Fourth XI were brave in defeat. A blistering 46 off 49, including 8 boundaries, by Baylee Murley was the highlight.
A big week on the track as we look to bounce back against Huntly in Round 2!
The weather is looking picture perfect to get down and support the Dees as our women’s team kicks off their 23/24 season this Sunday too!
