Hello all,

Thank you to the volunteers who came out today and assisted in promoting the club.

Pre-season is booked to start from March 4 and the winter season is looking to start end of April.

We are still in discussions to start preseason at the end of February however at this stage March 4, if there are any changes there will be notification in this space.

If anyone is interested in coaching this season expressions of interest close February 12 and coaches will be announced February 19.

Condolence to Gay, Peter, Brad and the Huggard family. We are so sorry for your loss 🤍

This weekend, the Bulls & Bears will battle it out for the 2023 title and their home ground Ken Wust Reserve 🏆

Come along and support our under 12’s this Sunday, and witness some incredible baseball ⚾️

Well done to all the Bendigo East Seniors on Sunday during their first round of finals ⚾️

The division 1’s put up a good fight, with Joshua Brown pitching the full game. Unfortunately the Falcons side hit back hard with the bats taking an early lead rewarding them with the victory 4-9

The Division 2 game was a close affair early, with both teams hitting and fielding well, ending the second innings tied at 3-3. The Dodgers bats exploded, scoring 14 runs in the third and seven in the fourth. Nigel and AJ battled hard on the mound, but the Dodgers hitters kept finding gaps in the field. Highlights with the bat for East were an in the park home run for Dillon, and hits to Ajay, Ollie and AJ. Despite the big loss, the 2s are still well and truly in finals contention, taking on Scots on Sunday for a place in the Grand Final.

Division 3 went up against Falcons Blue in a knock out round.
Talia controlled the mound for the entirety of the game, backed up by a strong fielding side keeping the runs low on the falcons side. With equally aggressive batting by every member saw the 3’s take a very early lead, maintaining the gap throughout the game resulting in a 23-9 win! The 3’s will take on Falcons White this Sunday to secure their spot in the grand final.

The U12s Bulls team continued this week as they have all season, undefeated!
Our very own U12s Bears also won their preliminary game this Sunday, pushing them up into the grand final!
The East Bulls will go head to head with the East Bears this week for the top spot in the grand final! 🙌🏻

U14s started off strong with Archer on the mound, he is normally our catcher, but we needed pitchers and Archer rose to the occasion, with Georgia behind the plate.
They put down 7 runs in the first inning and kept the falcons mostly at bay thanks to a master-class in pitching by Archer, who was later swapped out for Lily pitching in relief.
Falcons eventually gained the upper hand and were up by 2 runs. Shortly after falling behind, we gained a second wind and had a fantastic rally to tie the game, with Lily stealing home on a pass ball to give us the lead. The score was later reverted back from 11-10 back to 10-8 in their favor.

The u16s game was going to be a tough fought game from the get go, Easts first innings was fast paced coming out strong with with 7 runs.
Nate started off on the mound for East with Asha in relief in the 2nd innnings.
East’s 2nd inning scored 4 runs with falcons shutting out our lower order batters. East allowed 7 runs in the 2nd innings with scores tied at 11 a piece. The 3rd innings only 1 run was scored giving us a 1 run lead and requiring some tight defence to shut down the falcons. The Falcons came out with 2 strong hits and scoring the 2 runs to take the win in the final minute of the game, 13 -12

Closing message from u16s coach Jay: It was an awesome game of baseball to coach and watch with an amazing group of supporters chearing East u16s on, the boys fought hard and should be proud of how they all played in the final game of the season ❤️

The 2023 Bendigo Baseball Association Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday 1st September!

We welcome all members of the Bendigo Baseball community to attend and celebrate a truely spectacular season this year. This awards evening gives us as a community the opportunity to acknowledge and recognise the incredible work and achievements made by our volunteers, players and officals throughout the year. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all and look forward to the 2024 season!

Time: 6:30pm - 7:00pm AWARDS START
