Guide To Staying Loose

Stay loose.
Learn to watch snails.
Plant impossible gardens.
Invite someone dangerous for tea.
Make little signs that say YES and post them all over your house.
Make friends with freedom.
Look forward to dreams.

Cultivate moods.
Refuse to be responsible.
DO IT FOR LOVE.
Take lots of naps.
Give money away.
Do it now, the money will follow.

Take moon baths.
Have a wild imagination.

Just finished this book. One of the best books I've ever read. Inspiring, motivational, funny, educational and powerful. I average 1 book a week on all aspects of human life. This is a keeper! Ross Edgley got me through some dark days in the last year. Brilliant timely book and amazing man. ❤️

PREP FOR HEATWAVES

Following on from yesterday's post ...

Hello Summer! With temps in Australia this week set to spike (40°+ already in some places), please prepare your gardens and animals well, including wildlife.

On such hot days, a good watering in the morning is essential, and all animals need 'cooling shade', not just shade - shade where the temp is at least 10°+ cooler.

Leave lots of water out for wildlife also in cool places, especially overnight ... and remember to slip, slop, slap, slide and slurp yourself also! Stay stafe.

THINGS WE CAN LEARN FROM A DOG

• Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
• Allow the experience of the fresh air and wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
• When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
• Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
• Take naps, and stretch before rising.
• Run, romp and play daily … eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
• Be loyal … never pretend to be something you are not.
• If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
• When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
• Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
• Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
• On hot days, drink lots of water and rest under a shady tree.
• When your happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
• No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t but into the ‘guilt thing’ … run right back and make friends.
• Bond with your pack.
• Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

WORDS

Throughout the universe there is order in the movement of planets, in nature, and in the functioning of the human mind.
The mind that is in its natural state of order is in harmony with the universe, and such a mind is timeless.
Your life is an expression of your mind.
You are free to be in any state you desire.
The use of your thoughts and words have great power.
So it can be a blessing or a curse, it is entirely up to you.
So the quality of your life is brought about by the quality of your thinking.
Thoughts produce actions. Look at your thoughts.
See the pettiness, greed, envy and fear and all the other attitudes that can cause you pain, hurt and discomfort.
Realise that the one thing you have absolute control over, is your attitude.
See the affect it has on others around you, for each life is linked to all living things.
Your words carry with them chain reactions, like a stone that is thrown into a pond.
If your thinking is in order, your words will flow directly from the heart, and give out ripples of love, caring and contentment.
If you truly want to change your world, you must change your thinking.
Reason is the greatest tool.
It creates an atmosphere of understanding, which leads to caring and helping, which leads to love and respect.

Choose your words with care. ❤️

This week is very hot and humid, and despite a little rain recently, it's still very dry. I have water bowls and bird baths everywhere around my house and gardens (which is a year-round norm for me anyway), but especially in the hotter months, for birds, reptiles, insects and wildlife.

When you provide consistent, reliable sources of fresh water, with less and less water in the suburbs, your site becomes an oasis for life. Daily, so much life visits my place for water. It's wonderful to see on hot days. ❤️

Rest, true deep rest, not just relaxing, chilling out or napping, is an art, is essential to whole well-being. Everyone can move and be active. Everyone can do more, have more, be more. But can you truly deeply rest your mind and body? There is great peace and healing in learning to really rest. ❤️

THE 10 LIFE LAWS

Life Law #1 You either get it or you don’t!
That means you either understand that YOU are your top priority or … you don’t. If you have a history of letting people abuse you, physically and emotionally, days will turn into weeks, weeks into months, months into years … until one day you’ll wake up and say, “I blew it.”

Life Law #2 You create your own experience!
Whether life treats you fairly or unfairly, you will always be in control of your reaction to it, and that determines where you come out. What you fear you create. If you decide you’re going to continue the cycle, you will continue the cycle.

Life Law #3 People do what works!
Even the most destructive behaviours have a payoff. Otherwise, we wouldn’t engage in them. What behaviours are dragging you down? Figure them out or you’re like a puppet on a string.

Life Law #4 You can’t change what you won’t acknowledge!
Be truthful about what isn’t working and stop making excuses. You’ve got yo face it to replace it. Your blind spots may be the very things you most need to see.

Life Law #5 Life rewards action!
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” The road to happiness, however, is paved with action. One action to take is to think of the 5 – 10 most important people in your life, and tell them how we feel about them. “You shouldn’t let the sun set on another day with something unsaid to the people you love.”

Life Law #6 There is no reality, only perception!
We all view the world through filters, many of them, distorted. Some of them may be destroying your life. If you view the world through a dark, distorted filter, your world is going to be a dark, distorted place. If you perceive yourself as weak and vulnerable, you will be.

Life Law #7 Life is managed, not cured!
No one “solves” life. There’s no way to “fix” it permanently. Nobody “arrives” at a place where the work is done. The best any of us can do is manage it through the ups and downs, joys and disappointments. You’re a life manager, and you are your only client. Are you going to manage yourself into a place of happiness and accomplishment, or a place of sadness and disappointment?

Life Law #8 We teach people how to treat us!
It’s meaning is simple: What you’ve accepted from people in the past is the clearest indicator to them of how they can treat you in the future.

Life Law #9 There is power in forgiveness!
Anger, hurt and resentment are “the things of which emotional prisons are made, and those prisons lock from the inside, not the outside.” Forgiveness frees you. And the person you’re forgiving doesn’t have to acknowledge they’re wrong or apologize. Don’t forgive someone to make him or her feel better. Do it to make you feel better.

Life Law #10 You have to name it to claim it!
Get clear about what you want and take your turn.

Today I Will Make a Difference

Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving. Today I will make a difference.

I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble. I will get up. It's OK to fail. I will rise again. Today I will make a difference.

I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A person can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A person can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.

Today I will make a difference. ❤

These are my Daily Questions.

I share these online sometimes, and always with friends and clients.
Mine are on a card, front and back, in a book of daily readings I use each day.

They are a wonderful way to calibrate the start and/or end of your day, especially the first card, with children at the dinner table.
There's only 1 rule as you answer each question: you must access the 'feeling' of each question's key word.
For example, What am/was I HAPPY about today? You must pause and genuinely 'feel' happiness before you answer. Each question's feeling doesn't have to always be strong or deep. Some days, a subtle feeling is OK, but however gentle, you must feel it.

And if you do access the feeling of each question before you answer, this will change your physiology, even on tired, low days. Daily, it's powerful. Over time, this is a game-changer. ❤️

Be Young!
