These journals are just a starter to bring self awareness, empowerment and positive mental health to our women, in particular our LDS women and with a specific passion and nod to our women in the Pacific, our women of colour and culture throughout the world.
One of the biggest drivers to create in this space was to see faces, smiles, colours, features and hair 😉 that look like ours, mine, our sisters, friends, mamas, daughters and granddaughters.
We wanted to see and use words that speak to us, our stories, our traditions, and our cultures.
We wanted to prompt conversations around topics we either shy away from, sweep under the rug or simply refuse to acknowledge.

Again, this is just our beginning, we will eventually get into physical journals, but this is our start for now.

We cannot always choose what happens to us, but we can always choose how we react. Our choices matter more than our circumstances.
Blaise Billones, an international student from BYU-Hawaii, shares how he copes with stress. "As a working student and husband, things can get overwhelming," he said. "Going out for a quick walk helps my brain take a break for a few minutes. Once my mind is clear, I can think better about my priorities and schedule."
His wife, Lia, prefers to stay at home with her planner and pens when stressed. "Whenever I find myself having so many things cluttering my mind, I need to take it all out on paper. I would take a jotter pad, then just write everything I know I need to do." She explains that writing it down helps her see what she needs to prioritize first.
Whether it's being out or staying in, finding healthy ways to cope with stress is important for any adjusting students.
