Ready to turn chaos into calm like she did?

I received this message today from a client who just completed her 6-week journey with me.

Like many of us, she was overwhelmed—juggling two little ones, managing a household, and navigating a career change. Instead of relishing in the joy of watching her children grow, she found herself constantly irritated, feeling disconnected from the loving, fun home she had envisioned for her family.

Over our 6 weeks together, we went deep. We cried, we explored, and we discovered unique ways for her to truly participate in the beauty of her world. She began to offload the old, stuck beliefs that were triggering unwanted emotions and behaviors.

Ever been so mad when someone says take a deep breath, there’s an overwhelming desire to cause grievous bodily harm?

Simply put taking a deep breath doesn’t always cut it. Sometimes you need a really good strategy to move the mind to thinking about something else. Three minutes is enough to change state. Twelve long breaths if you really are short on time. Twelve x 2 rounds is even better 🏆😘

Here’s 3 stellar practices:

1️⃣A breath such as the humming breath is effective in activating the vagus nerve, witching from adrenaline pumping flight or fight mode to rest and relax. The soothing sound, similar to sound heard in the womb. Use the breath with children to calm them as well.

2️⃣ Square or box breathing is useful to switch thoughts, as the rational mind is kept busy thinking about counting, while you breathe fully utilising your lungs. Breathing mindfully into the upper chest before drawing the breast to the lower belly holding and continuing the cycle by exhaling and holding.

3️⃣ The breath principle of inhaling to receive allows you to inhale and flip your focus to gratitude, the things that sustain you in the life and exhale to remind you to feel the strength in your body. To remind you how much strength you have to have made it through all your challenges and create the beauty in the reality of your existence.

All these practices allow you to create calm in chaos, to be mindful in the mayhem. It is in this place of clarity with emotions soothed that you can access superior brain function, respond rather than react and problem solve with more awareness to highest good for all.

Science is rapidly catching up with ancient breathing practices and principles. These are practices so revered they were hijacked to temple life, however they are free for humanity, have been used for thousands of years, and the human body really hasn’t changed that much.

This is the basis of breathwork, subtle and effective 💗

Want to know why when people start yoga, and experience true yoga, they often dive deeper?

Let me tell you…

🪷What you learn in your body, applies to your brain too. The flexibility you gain in your body is the flexibility you gain in your mind

🪷The tenacity you have to stay and oppose when it is not comfortable, tenacity, you have to stay still in situations when they are not comfortable too.

🪷The space you have between your thoughts on the mat, means you find the ability to create spaciousness and calm between your thoughts off the mat too.

🪷You start to perceive differently. The freedom that you gain in your body is a freedom that you gain in your mind.

It’s not so much of what you learn in a yoga class. It’s the gifts that arise when you leave it.

I am teaching a four series yoga workshop using the 5 foundation breath principles to guide a yoga practice. These principles are often absent in many studio offerings, once you have then, you can use them in classes, at home in a self practise or to become present during the day.

You will be confident to develop your own yoga practice unique to your age, health, body type and culture.

Here’s a truth no one tells you…

‘One must change the mind to meditate, rather than meditate to change the mind*’

Just like you decide to be happy, rather wait for happiness to decide 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is it the prayer that gives hope or is it choosing hope that creates a prayer?

It certainly isn’t a cord cutting ceremony or burning incense that cleanses and clears energy, it is choosing to be cleansed, free and unentangled. It starts by changing the mind.

Similarly having a romantic night out, isn’t about it is not the actual romantic night out rather than choosing to be and receive romance and intimacy.

We have the power in us to create massive shifts and changes in our world by changing the way we think about things. If you think it’s hard, impossible or ridiculous, it always will be until it is thought about differently 💗

It’s as easy and as hard as getting out of your own way 🫣

Did you know striving for happiness all the time is not realistic?😳

Knowing that life is 50-50 gives us some relief. The best teachers I’ve had teach that once your life is just that little bit over 50 in the positive feels, things suddenly and synchronistically fall into place. Where there was no way, there becomes a way, where there was a wall, there becomes a door 🚪✨✨✨

The best way to tip the scales on feel good vibrations I've found in 26 years of doing this stuff are these few practises:

1️⃣✨Things happen for you, not to you. Take responsibility for yourself and stop being a victim. Sure bad things happen, however I believe they happen so that you can learn and evolve. To bring you closer to what gives you more contentment, fulfilment and joy. Think about it?

2️⃣✨Be and feel in awe. There is so much in your life that is going right, so much that you have brought into your world by your action and it outweighs the discomfort and unwanted. Notice and smell the roses, go beyond gratitude.

3️⃣✨If you want a different answer, ask your brain a different question. Rather than telling your brain your limitation ask your brain question to get over your limitation.

I don’t just teach woman these things, I’ve a variety of ways to help them in bed them into their life, because when woman feels confident, when a woman knows she is enoug she glows from the inside out and inspires all those around her with her radiance.

My DMs are always open for a conversation to work one-to-one to learn a mindset that last a lifetime for a beautiful lifetime🪷💗🪷

So why would you want to work with mindfulness and mayhem?

I have worked with women and families for over 2 decades in finding equilibrium in their unique everyday lives. I have seen and experienced that it’s not the world around us, but the thoughts in us that contribute to our, and frequently our family’s, happiness, joy, contentment and overall quality of life.

Sometimes that means aligning careers, situations or experiences that bring out the best in us. Sometimes that means offloading limiting belief patterns and situations, setting boundaries and becoming emotionally regulated, so we can think with clarity and rationalise a situation rather than be driven by fear and inner talk around not being good enough, doing things perfectly and people pleasing.

Most of all this means filling your own cup by being and doing things that matter most and with intention. It’s being ok that the world is mayhem and chaos and always will be, there are peaks and troughs, it’s 50/50, and how quickly when knocked off balance can you come back to a place of inner knowing, of love, when faced with challenges, both for yourself and others?

It’s also knowing what situations are adding to life and what aren’t. It’s about choosing action, without overwhelm, overthinking or under the weight of ‘shoulds’. It’s about feeling into discomfort and recognising it’s a place for unique inner growth and rather than running away to find inner harmony, greeting being uncomfortable as a positive knowing that there is opportunity to rebuild deep belief sets and behaviour imprints.

The current options are to work with me one to one in an inner journey of 3-8 weeks, in a group program Reimage your Time to Reclaim Your Glow, or with the ancient technology of yoga if you are in Brisbane.
