Over the past few days, my team and I have been working on a big project that’s pushed all of us to new heights. While the progress has been significant, there have been moments where the team felt unproductive, overwhelmed, or simply drained.
To shift that mindset, we decided to try something new during our Monday meetings—asking everyone to share their wins from the past week. It’s a simple practice but incredibly powerful. Celebrating even the smallest victories has helped us reframe our challenges and recognise how far we've come.
A win could be anything from hitting a milestone, resolving a tricky issue, or simply making it through a challenging day with resilience. Acknowledging these moments has not only lifted spirits but reminded everyone of the collective effort behind every achievement, no matter how big or small.
As a business owner and leadership coach, I've seen firsthand the importance of acknowledging team wins. It boosts morale, fosters a culture of appreciation, and encourages ongoing motivation. It’s also a great way to remind ourselves that progress is progress—even on the days when it feels like we’re treading water.
By focusing on what we’re doing right, the team feels more empowered and energised to tackle the next big challenge. So here’s to more wins, more growth, and more opportunities to celebrate together!

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending the Women in Super lunch.
For those who know me, my 33 years in the financial services industry reflect my deep passion and commitment to this industry.
I am particularly dedicated to highlighting the importance of our work and the significant impact and legacy we leave as an industry. Our efforts not only shape the financial well-being of individuals but also contribute to a more equitable and secure future for all.
The lunch focused on economic abuse, a form of domestic violence that affects 16% of women and threatens their financial security. Super funds have a unique role in addressing this issue by reimagining products with a financial safety lens. Rebecca Glenn, CEO of the Centre for Women’s Economic Safety, provided invaluable insights on supporting those experiencing financial abuse.
Women already face disadvantages in superannuation, and learning about the additional impact of economic abuse was particularly disheartening.
It’s time for the finance sector to embrace its role in protecting women against financial abuse and make it harder to inflict harm.
Let’s work together to create a safer and more equitable financial future for all.

Starting my own company 11 years ago was one of the best decisions I ever made. After my second daughter was born, I knew I needed to be more present for my family. Although I love the corporate space, the corporate world was all about inflexible hours that didn't align with my values. I’m still putting in the hours, but now they’re on my terms—aligned with what works best for my family, my business, and as a leader of my team and most importantly the clients we get to serve every day (so humbled and grateful for them)
Just this year, I attended my youngest daughter's last primary school book parade. While I haven't made it to every one, I've been fortunate enough to attend most of them. And that's something I'm incredibly proud of—my business reflects what matters most to me.
I won't claim to have work-life balance, because the reality is we work hard (and on days like this it means that I have to do some work early in the morning or on the weekend). But I do have work-life harmony. Our business is 90% oversubscribed 90% of the time, and when it's not, it's because I've chosen harmony over work. That’s my decision, and I’m grateful every day that 11 years ago, I made the right one, for me, my family, my clients and my amazing team who support me as I support them.
