According to recent statistics presented to Parliament by the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA), in Australia today 1 in 2 people have at least one chronic health condition!
One major contributing factor in a lot of chronic health conditions is metabolic dysfunction. Metabolic dysfunction is the dysregulation of how cells produce and use energy.
Take a read of Caryn Levick's new blog about the potential causes and how we assess and treat Metabolic Dysfunction as Naturopaths and Nutritionists.

Many people may overlook tell-tale signs and symptoms of poor mental health or push these out of mind, persevering until the effects take their toll physically.
You may start to feel exhausted and overreact to small things. You might experience frequent headaches and get sick a lot. Your mind may feel clouded as you struggle to concentrate or maintain motivation. Refreshing sleep becomes a distant memory and you may lack libido.
Unhealthy habits and distractions can creep in as you try to soothe the stress. There are however, some simple diet and lifestyle changes you can make when coping with anxiety.
What Is Methylation And Why Does It Matter?
Methylation is currently a hot topic within the health industry, and with good reason. It is a major pathway to focus on in understanding autoimmune and neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, seizure disorders, dementia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, depression, anxiety and autism spectrum disorders. Methylation is responsible for making, maintaining and repairing DNA.
This biochemical process is involved in almost all body functions, and not surprisingly, methylation disturbances have been linked to many chronic disease states which are now endemic. Since the early 2000s, scientists have been actively exploring the specific mechanisms through which methylation can become compromised.
Our practitioners can guide you through an evidence-based and practical perspective on methylation, incorporating this into their functional medicine toolkit, to enhance the understanding and treatment of conditions such as cardiovascular disease, dementia, mood disorders, fatigue and reproductive issues.

Insulin resistance (IR) is a condition characterised by resistance to the effects of insulin at a cellular level. Untreated insulin resistance may lead to Type 2 Diabetes and require medical intervention and ongoing treatment.
As insulin resistance progresses, muscle, liver and adipose tissue require increasingly greater amounts of insulin from the pancreas to transfer sugars from the bloodstream. When the body's cells ignore the extra insulin, this results in high glucose AND high insulin levels in the bloodstream, leading to unwanted symptoms and health complications.
You can book insulin resistance testing from anywhere in Australia and have the results explained by a Clinical Nutritionist. Click the link in our bio and check out Insulin Resistance Testing on our website.

A food intolerance test can help you identify if you have a food sensitivity rather than a food allergy and avoid years of discomfort.
There are many reasons why you may be reacting to a food, food group or environmental agent. The most appropriate test for you is determined by what your reaction is, how quickly you react after you have consumed or come in contact with the ingredient, as well as what your general health is like.
You can book food sensitivity testing from anywhere in Australia and have the results explained by a Clinical Nutritionist. Click the link in our bio and check out Food Intolerance Testing on our website.
