SAYER REGINS IN INAUGURAL SHOWDOWN

It’s been a case of what he touches turns to wins this season so far for Kyle Sayer.

Despite a relegation in a heat race stopping his complete domination, the National Champion has won the inaugural round of the Production Sedan West Coast Showdown at the Make Smoking History Collie Speedway on Saturday Night.

Sayer went the distance to defeat Mitch Killeen and Barry Rose.

26 Productions Sedans made the trip to the Coalfields to be a part of history, and after the three round of heats, Sayer, Killeen, Ayden Trewern, Kye Blight, Nuno Mendes and Jamie Graham where the top six drivers who where locked into the redraw.

Trewern and Graham were the two lucky drivers who drew out the front row positions with Sayer starting out of three and high point man Killeen drawing out the six.

Sayer though was unstoppable, hitting the lead early and not being headed, with Killeen and Rose rounding out the podium with only six cars able to make the finish.

The Showdown will be back on January 6 at Albany Speedway for the Star Auto Parts Production Sedan 5000.

TIME FOR A SHOWDOWN IN COAL TOWN

Production Sedans in the West begin a new venture in Western Australia this Saturday Night as the inaugural round of the Production Sedan Showdown gets underway at the Make Smoking History Collie Speedway.

Spanning the Western Australian Coastline over four weekends from November to March, the first round begins this weekend with $5,000 prize money up for grabs on the night.

Based on the successful Month of Madness, drivers who compete in all four rounds will take an even spread of the Series Prize Money Payout.

Saturday night's event has brought out the best from each corner of the state to the Coalfields, as National Champion Kyle Sayer and State Title holder Kye Blight are in the field.

But they aren't the only drivers in the field with a list of accomplishments to their name, as former State Champions Nuno Mendes and Barry Rose are making the trip. Along with Mitchell Baker (Former Junior Sedan National Champion, Josh Fraser (Northern Territory Junior Sedan Champion) and Aydan Trewen (Former Modified Sedan State Champ).

Collie has always been a hard place to come in and win, with a stout list of local drivers, including Rickie Nuccini, Robbie Trenaman, Jamie Graham, Jake Avins and the returning Dean Crowe.

Action is scheduled to begin at 6 pm.
