Stadium Damage Update - Current as of Monday 13th May, 830am.
Hi all, sincere thanks for your patience and support, it's been very appreciated. Good news is that we have been given the ok to access the stadium so we will be proceeding with a Club Working Bee. We have scheduled it for 530pm on Tuesday (14/5). We will do a safety briefing at that time prior to work commencing. Could each Club organise to bring one trailer please and for each person to ensure they wear good gloves and suitable clothing including covered in shoes. Tools such as rakes, shovels would be good as well. Our priority is to get turf 1 ready to play on first and then clean up turf 2 and surrounds.
Vehicle access to the stadium will be as per normal, we'll advise if otherwise.
We ask Clubs to share this post and ask for your members to help out if possible.
For those organisations outside of hockey that have offered their help, thank you, but for this event on Tuesday night we'll just use our local Clubs' members and then call on you if we need any help moving forward.
Please note there will still be NO training this week.
In regards to fixtures we are aiming for a return to hockey this Friday night with the junior fixtures first followed by the seniors as per normal. We will be releasing this week's fixtures very soon today in three separate posts, juniors, seniors and masters in that order, to assist the Clubs to get them out to their members early, as there will be changes.
Can we please ask that you do what you can to assist your Clubs in regards to the new fixtures and remember that there has been some incredible work done in a very short space of time by members of the Bunbury Hockey Exec team to make this happen. Respect all round thanks. In closing we'd like to sincerely thank the City of Bunbury, DFES, the SES and all associated agencies in the work they've done to assist so many families and organisations.
Thanks everyone, we look forward to seeing everyone back playing very soon.
SWL round has been cancelled due to damage at the Bunbury Hockey Stadium.

The girls travelled to bunbury again to play some stick ball against towns south’s.
Not as hot this weekend but still too warm for a winter sport.
Came away with a win 3-1
Had a fair few players ( and coach 😆) away this weekend due to holidays and live music being more desirable 🤭
Which gave us the perfect opportunity to play some of our up and coming juniors.
Well done on another win girls 👍

Volunteers are amazing!! 🌟
We would like to take the time to acknowledge Mr Walter “Wally” Lord and commemorate his time here at Busselton Hockey Association.
Identifiable by his Akubra hat Wally has coached multiple generations at Busselton Hockey. With his involvement of 61 years Wally has been a committed player, coach, and delegate of our Association. He has been president of the Busselton Margaret River Men’s Hockey Association and a committee member of the installation of our first turf. After the amalgamation of the women’s, men’s and junior Hockey Associations he has been director of general services on the Board, followed by Board Chairman for many years. For his unswerving volunteering commitment, he has been awarded with the Steve Jenkins award multiple times throughout his time with Busselton Hockey.
Wally became a life member of the Busselton Margaret River Men’s Hockey Association in 1997, and life member of Busselton Hockey Association in 1999.
On behalf of Busselton Hockey Association, we would like to thank Wally and his unwavering commitment to our beloved Association. Without you it wouldn’t be Busselton Hockey. You are an all-round true blue.
