Things about to heat up this weekend LITERALLY, as we head to Tyrepower Manjimup Speedway for our WA V8 Dirt Modifieds STATE TITLE.

Albany Speedway Club hosted our championship round over the long weekend for WA V8 Dirt Modifieds.
We had another great weekend in the #24 Car, with great driving from everyone.
First up want to say thanks to the track crew for giving us a great track, and to all of the crew from Albany.

So we had 3 heat and the feature.
Heat 1 started P3 Finished P2
Heat 2 started P3 Finished P2
Heat 3 started P1 Finished P2

Feature time
Started P2 Got a great start but overshot turn 1 a couple of laps later and loosing a spot.
But grabbed p2 back after car overshot the same corner, so bring the car across the checked flag in P2 was an awsome result.

Another big shout to car owner Peter Cox to allow me steer his car for him, we always have a great time and enjoy the weekends racing.
Plus our other crew member Jeremy Glen has come on board and has adapted very well with not just working on the car but other crews. He is a true asset to the team. Thank mate for your time & help.

The life of a racer 🤣
Last night we headed to Perth Motorplex for another round of the WA V8 Dirt Modifieds series.

After the diff bracket snapping at Moora the parts have arrived and Peter got to work and got it back together for us.

So we thought we should give it a run at Motorplex Last night and car was great handle well. We tried a couple of different things to see how car was and it was a pleasure to drive.

Track was abit greasy but there was a little bit of grip in some spots which gave us a good opportunities.

We only got 2 heat in for the night as very heavy come down just prior to our Feature race.

Heat 1 we started of pole position and come home in a safe 2nd place 😛
Heat 2 seen us start from rear of field and bring home the car in 2nd place again.

Feature was a no start due to rain.

Had a great night with the teams and crews from the Wa Dirt Modified club.

Big shout to Clint Smith (Smithy) for coming down and helping out with car.
Was great to see my Nephew Toby and my brother Troy and to meet his Partner Deb, thank you for coming down.

Race night update From Moora speedway last weekend.

So we all travel to Moora for our 3rd round of Championships.
Was a great start to our night with some great racing with our fello competitors.

But heading out for heat 3 we started of pole position front row and with the goal to get the holeshot into turn 1.
But unfortunately when I put the pedal down, the drive shaft decided to exit the car via the back end 😲.

So with that we were unfortunately out for the rest of the night as we couldn't fix it.

Still had a great night.

Big shout out to Jeremy Glen for your help so far this season it's been great to have you on board with us.
Not only you helped get the car ready each race but for jumping in to help a junior driving to get there car fixed after hitting the wall.
(I will do a post on that later).

Round 1 Seen us travel to Trade Hire Augusta Margaret River Speedway.

We started off with new motor sounding and running great and feeling really nice as we got an upgrade on steering and it was a dream to drive.
Massive thanks to Peter Cox for everything he does, this year he built us a new motor and he has even spoilt me more with a power steering pump 😃.
Your a legend mate.

Hot laps went well.
Heat 1 DNF Did not finish due to loosing a fuel pump belt.
Heat 2 DNS Did not start due to still fixing pulley.
Heat 3 DNF Due to looping car on final lap.

This being our first feature Win for the Dirt modified

Ok so a couple of weeks ago we had our WA V8 Dirt Modifieds Wind up night for the 2022/2023 Season.

We come away with a mixed bag for the season and to be honest it was a tuff season but with a fantastic ending.

Even though our night ended earlier due to troubles I

deserved 3rd place in the state title held at Trade

But of course there is some very important people to thank and without them none of this could happen.
Firstly to car owner Peter Cox and his Family to allow me to drive there car.
I'm so appreciative of this opportunity and can't thank you enough. 🙏

Secondly to the Falconbridge family and Steve from the Falconbridge motorsports. They let us use there tired old spare engine 😀 and hey it went like the clappers and held up very well and got us across thr line for a 3rd place in the Title.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA #3

What a way to end the season, Jason Craig had some good results and bad luck throughout this season but to top it off like this was unreal.
To get this podium finish for the car owner Peter Cox and all our supporters is unbelievable. To think just a few weeks ago after hurting an engine we never thought we'd make it to the Title.

But a massive thank you goes to Team Falconbridge motorsports & Steve Rosling they helped us out in massive way by loaning us an engine.

To say we a greatfull is an understatement.

I can't thank Peter and his Family for the opportunity to drive this car for them.

A big shout to my Dad , Merlie, and My lovely partner Jodie who also come along to support us.
I think my Dad was getting abit excited on the fence line reving me up.

Unfortunately we had a couple of issues on Saturday night with carby problems which we got fixed between hotlaps and first heat.

Then had fuel pressure issue's in first heat which seen us drop a spot due to loosing power.
The Unfortunately we lost oil pressure in next heat due to part failure.

This will not stop me from keep trying.
This #24 car is a bloody rocket ship and as so much potential.

Big thanks to Peter Cox for putting in the hours on this car as he gives such a nice car drive but we've just had some bad luck.
Thank you to my Dad who travelled down for the weekend to stay with me and come and join us on Saturday night as great to have you there.

Unfortunately 2 laps into our Hotlap session one of the yokes on the driveline decided it didn't want to play the game and let go.
So we were done for the night.
Big shout out to Peter Cox who worked hard to get it back together for this meeting over the Xmas break plus his other commitments but thats racing and it can be cruel. But we will get it sorted ready for next round and come out again and give it a go.

Also thanks to Dad for coming for a drive to watch us race and even tho we didn't get to race was great to spend time with you watching the races.

Albany Speedway Club Race Recap

Last weekend we headed further south to Albany for round 3
We started off with the clouds opening up with a good sprinkle of rain for a couple of hours, but it didn't stop the club form running the event.

The track was challenging and ended up with a few ruts but we had a great time for our first time at the club, but we done well in our heat races, but unfortunately the start of our feature race ended in turn 1 with the tail shaft letting go with a bang. We have done some damage to a lot of gear including diff, drive line and bolt on components plus the battery has also been hit.
So with this we had decided that there was to much damage to get ready for Bunbury this weekend and so we will concentrate on getting it fix and be back very soon.

Yes things have been quiet.

But things are about to get fired up with some new changes to the #24 Dirt Modified with the start of another new season.

Tommorow night we head to Perth Motorplex for our first hit out in the Dirt modified.
And then Saturday we will travel north to Moora Speedway for our 2nd round of the Dirt Modified series.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the track.
