Australia diary 3/1/24. There’s a lot today! And thanks, there’s a lot more of them that record ordinary daily life. ❤️
4/1/24
Today's photos post.
Taken in Australia in the last couple of days.
Don't forget the ordinary daily life.
Your photos are excellent and I want all of what you are sending….BUT…..I still want more of the ordinary. The washing up. The car parked across the road. Cutting your toenails. Putting on makeup. Vacuuming. mowing the lawn. Changing the washer in your tap, getting home from work. At work if that’s allowed, your morning face, catching a bus. The traffic , your messy cupboard. ….
I do want pictures of australia and I’m getting lots of these but I also want what we are DOING in Australia both on special days such as New Years but also on an ordinary day at work or home.
If you’re shy and don’t want to put your face on my page you can send via messenger. You’ll still be in the black and white collage the next day but smaller and without your name. maybe a little less uncomfortable.
Yeah...I'm not going to finish today's drawing 'til tomorrow 😕. Grocery shopping, eye tests and housework need to be done at some point. I've made a start though.
Yesterday’s pictures ❤️. 2/1/24 Thanks again everyone. You’re awesome. 😎
🌞
Good morning everyone. Photos in Australia from today yesterday or the day before. Yay!
Day 7. Toowoomba. QLD.

I’ve sold a couple and they’re heading off soon. So I took a group shot of what I have so far before they go away.
If I can keep this up I will have a drawing collage a bit like the photo ones I’ve been sharing. I hope it will be a satisfactory representation (you could never get it all) of what daily life is like in Australia right now.
It's a new day!
Time for posting your photos.

This is us. 1/1/24.
Day 6. Yesterday on South Arm Highway. Tasmania.
Random choice….but 3rd Tasmanian photo in a row because I have a high percentage of Tasmanian followers. Thanks for all your photos today. Now to take a good look at them😃.

ADDIT: EEK…. LOL. Thanks so much. Maybe slow it down now and save some for tomorrow? Otherwise I won’t have time to edit them all. I’m glad I asked again.😀
I've only got 6 photos so far today😬. I was expecting a drop off...maybe it's just because it's New year's and you have better things to do.
Just a reminder the photos you send me don't have to be exciting. They can be very ordinary. In fact, I encourage ordinary.
If one in ten of my followers sent me a photo every day I would get plenty! Once they're all put together all the ones that seem boring become something better, and I think, pretty amazing.
You don't have to be having a party or at some beautiful beach.....you only have to be brushing your teeth or cleaning the car or cutting up sandwiches or chatting with a friend or looking out the window of the car or working....
Please keep sending photos. I really would like to keep this going for a while if possible, but can only do it with your help.
Australia. Photo diary. 31/12/23.

A few less yesterday but the quality was high! It was very difficult to choose one.
Happy 2024 everyone.

short explanation for anyone interested. I’ll be asking (almost) daily for people to share recent photos taken in Australia as a way of recording contemporary life. I’ll make a photo collage daily and draw one of the images each day. There will be a daily post for you to upload your photos.
I have 6000. Followers now😁😁 (thankyou all) I think I’ll need more to keep this going.
Here’s somewhere to dump todays photos.

Taken in Australia today, yesterday or the day before.
Australia photo diary 28 December 23, AND place to post all today’s photos. between 10am today and 10 am tomorrow. Taken in Australia either today yesterday or the day before.
Hope everyone can keep up their enthusiasm. I had a hard choice today….and I might not finish today’s in time to post drawing this evening because I’m going to mona. I’ll try…😬.
Oh…and share this post if you can, I’ll need lots of followers to keep this going I reckon.
If I'm expecting you all to share photos I thought I'd better put myself out there. Morning walk pre shower 🚿. I want to have a record of ordinary things that happen without getting noticed So I encourage you to be aware and if something catches your attention that you usually wouldn't notice let alone take a photo of. PleAse take a quick photo. If I make one person see a little more today I will be happy. And if I don't, I'll still be happy because I am noticing more myself.

My self imposed rule…I will choose a photo I receive between 10am today to 10am tomorrow for the next one. Keep them comin’ I’m having fun.
Here’s todays photo diary. Thanks again for indulging me. Difficult to choose just one….but that is my plan. Any photos I receive for the rest of today will go onto the next collage.
Remember photos to be taken in Australia in the last three days. So today, yesterday or the day before.
Better pick one and get to work.
I'm looking for something to draw today. Whatever you can see right now? Or photo from last 2 days.
Cousins. Alexa (Darwin) April (Lenah Valley, Tasmania) and Kaia (Darwin).
Thanks Sarah for the photo.
PLEASE READ THE REST OF THIS POST IF YOU’D LIKE TO HAVE A DRAWING DONE.
I’m planning doing a few more drawings from your photos in the next few weeks and maybe even longer (those who follow me know how often I change my mind☺️).
I want to do lots of drawings that when grouped together feel like ordinary Australia. But CURRENT Australia (This is important).
Therefore rules….until I change them.
1. If you want your photo illustrated send them in in the comments for the drawing of the day.
2. All photos taken within the last few days….I’ll ask dates before I draw. So take photos as much as you can because you can share them every day I finish a drawing.
3. All photos taken in Australia.
4. Make sure you have permission of people in the photos.
5. If you send me a photo I will assume I have permission to post on my pages if I choose yours.
6. They will be for sale for $125 each but you don’t have to buy them. And I will also give a few away here and there to those who genuinely can’t afford to purchase their drawing. (Please be honest, I need to eat too.)
7. I will have the final choice, ie. no commissions atm as I’m looking for the images that I think best represents Modern Australia.
8. Share my posts far and wide so I can get a huge cross section of Australia.
After getting all your Christmas photos, I’m in the mood to do a few of these.
So start taking photos again. The plan is to record the average Australian day, so ordinary daily activities are my favourites. For today I’ll pick one of the shots I got yesterday. Then I’ll ask for more tonight to get a subject for tomorrow.
Here’s Christmas in black and white. Thanks for playing everyone. I loved seeing snapshots of your day.
Can everyone send me one photo they took yesterday? I want to do a Christmas photo collage.
Have a great day everyone ❤️. I'm sitting back with my drawing board watching and listening. All my kids in one room......❤️.
Well it’s on its way! Many hours work on the road so far and I’m not even half way. This one is Campbell Town. If I work really really hard I’m hoping to get 12 drawings this size done by the end of next year.
3.5 hours so far……it’s going to be a while!
I’m starting another big one. The first dot!. I expect to have about 2 weeks of nothing else, as the road on this one is dark and quite a large proportion of the whole.
My daughter came home from Melbourne yesterday and we spent all day trying to make me a fancy looking website. Still a lot more to figure out but we're getting there.
