Last night we had the legendary Sensei Bruce Hyland down at the dojo. He ran a class focused on kumite attack drills and definitely put the students through their paces! Thank you Sensei, can't wait for next years class 🥋❤️

A big congratulations to all of the students who attended the two day Ishinryu gathering. It was a weekend full of training, skill building and of course fun!! Today students from all dojos; Carrum Downs, Dingley, Nyora, Koo-wee-rup, Echuca and Somerville all had the opportunity to participate in their grading with fantastic results. Well done to all 👏🥋 ISHIN!!

I'll miss seeing these smiling faces for our Friday afternoon 'kid's class' today, but we'll be back after the school holidays fir another exciting term of learning all things Ishinryu! It's never too late to come down for a free trial lesson and sign up!! 🥋❤️

Tonight's open class! We concentrated on our Zenkutsu dachi stance using bean bags to make sure we focused and limited our 'up and down' movements. If you lose the bean bag, you start again!

We now have a Friday afternoon class 5pm-5.45pm for our kids aged 4 and above!

Our Mini Masters with their Tiger Master certificate this morning. They are learning not only karate skills but social safety as well. Well done Tigers! 🥋❤️

Last night was the end of an era for Ishinryu karate association, with my Sensei Bruce Hyland conducting his last training session at our Carrum Downs dojo. It was a bit of an emotional, reflective class and I'm sure it had most of us thinking about why we started our journey in karate, who we were when we started and who we are today because of not only the art of karate, but because of our Sensei! We wish Sensei and Di the best of everything and whilst it's sad to see you both go, we look forward to where Ishinryu is headed and your visits back to our dojos. ISHIN!! 🥋❤️
