From backyard flips to Olympic dreams!

Brock Batty's love for trampoline began at home, learning new tricks from YouTube. Recognizing his talent, his mom enrolled him at Cheltenham Youth Club (C*C), where his skills soon outgrew the ceilings.

His dedication paid off at the 2022 World Championships in Birmingham, becoming the Under 17 world champion, and recently clinching the senior national title at the Australian Gymnastics Championships.

With coaches Danny and Sarah at C*C, and backing from the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program, Brock's journey is bolstered by a strong support network.

Brock focuses on perfecting his routines and embracing the Olympic experience. His family, along with all of Australia, will be cheering him on!

What a journey. What a moment. What a team.

It was the night of nights as the Australian Womenโ€™s Artistic Gymnastics Team left it all out on the competition floor in Paris.

Finishing in 10th with a final score of 158.964, the team missed out on qualification by the smallest of margins, only 0.533 points off eighth-place finishers, Romania.

โ€œTenth in the world at the Olympic Games is something to be so proud of,โ€ said Emma Nedov.

Floor Exercise

The competition began with dual Olympian Emily Whitehead on the Floor, where she set a positive tone with a score of 12.733. Ruby Pass followed with the team's highest score of 12.866, and Emma Nedov contributed with a 12.333. The team's combined score of 37.932 was the 10th best in the event.

Vault

On Vault, Emily Whitehead scored 13.600, Ruby Pass averaged 13.350 from her two routines, and Breanna Scott added a solid 13.300. The teamโ€™s total of 40.700 was the 9th best Vault score.

Uneven Bars

Challenges on Uneven Bars saw falls from both Emma Nedov and Emily Whitehead, but strong performances by Ruby Pass (13.900) and Kate McDonald (13.633) helped the team achieve a total of 40.299, placing them 8th on this apparatus.

Balance Beam

On the Balance Beam, Breanna Scott excelled with a score of 13.700, Ruby Pass added a 13.300, and Kate McDonald scored 13.033. Despite their efforts, the team's total of 40.033 placed them 9th in this event.

Individual Performances

Ruby, the youngest member of the team at just 17, secured her place in the womenโ€™s Individual All-Around Final, finishing with a score of 53.866 to see her back in action later this week.

โ€œI think I gave it my all today and thatโ€™s the best I can do, so the finals will be about going out there and having fun," said Ruby Pass.

Breanna Scott was the closest to making an apparatus final, placing 12th on Beam with her score of 13.700. Emma Nedov, competing in the All-Around, placed 51st with a score of 50.099.

The Australian team displayed significant improvement and competitive spirit with performances that highlighted their potential for future competitions.

Victoria, please join us as we congratulate this quintet of athletes on their outstanding performance!

Victoria was proud to stand behind you as you displayed the essence of sportsmanship both on and off the floor ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
