What an exhilarating day at our Primary School Athletics Day during Term 2, Week 7! Our students leapt into action, showcasing incredible athletic talents and bursting with school spirit. 🌈✨

From sprints to long jump and shot put, our young athletes competed with heart and hustle. The energy was electric as each competitor put forth their best effort, cheered on by teammates, creating a vibrant atmosphere of determination and teamwork. 👏💪 It was truly inspiring to see the spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie shine throughout the day.

From the wispy elegance of cirrus clouds to the fluffy charm of cumulus, the expansive blanket of stratus, and the towering majesty of cumulonimbus clouds, every day is an adventure above! Each lesson is packed with hands-on activities, creative artwork, and lively discussions that bring the sky into our classroom. 🎨📚

Last week, our Year 5 students stepped back in time at Sovereign Hill Camp, and oh, what an adventure it was! From the moment we arrived, the excitement was palpable—everyone was buzzing with energy, quickly claiming top bunks and diving into the historical fun. 🏕️😄

Armed with ink quills and old-fashioned toys like horseshoes, our students embraced life in the 1800s. They started each day with a bounce, fueling up with a hearty breakfast before exploring treasures like the candy store for famous raspberry drops and the candle-making shop for lavender soap. 🍬🕯️

The highlight? Dressing up for costume school! Our kids looked fantastic in period outfits, taking part in stitching projects and living out a day in the shoes of a student from yesteryears. The day capped off with the dazzling Aura Light Show, bringing the story of the Eureka Stockade to life. 🎭🌟

From learning how gold was refined to discovering the hidden dangers of coloured clothes in the 1800s, and setting skipping rope records, each moment was a lesson wrapped in fun. 📜🎒

Mr. Seth showed us how each piece of equipment plays a vital role in providing care, especially teaching us how to take care of our hearts. 💓👩‍🏫 His passion for helping others and his invaluable service to our community left us all inspired and grateful.

Last week was a day of excitement and spirited competition as our secondary students took to Casey Fields for the annual Athletics Carnival! Students from all four houses gave their all in a range of events from the fast-paced 100m and 400m dashes to the skilful high jump, discus, and javelin. 🏆🥇

The 100m sprint and the high jump were standout moments, while the long-distance runners wowed the crowd with their stamina in the 1500m race. The air was electric with cheers, as students, adorned in vibrant house colours, supported their peers. The presence of enthusiastic parents only added to the fantastic atmosphere! 📣👏

🌲🚣 Adventure Alert: Year 9 Survivor Camp! 🚣🌲

Last week, our Year 9 students tackled the ultimate challenge at Survivor Camp along the stunning Murray and Goulburn Rivers. Over several days, they showed off their wilderness skills by crafting rafts, navigating river currents, and braving the great outdoors with sheer determination and grit. 🛶💪

Each night was a new survival test, as they ventured inland to forage for food and construct shelters from scratch. 🍂🌟 The true test of their endurance came with a day filled with navigating the bush and engaging in team-building games, strengthening their skills in problem-solving and cooperation. 🧭🤝

This thrilling adventure not only tested their abilities but also strengthened the bonds among them, creating unforgettable memories and a strong sense of camaraderie. 🌟👫

A few weeks back, our ELC kids took on an exciting challenge by bringing their bikes and scooters to learn all about road safety. Each day was filled with fun, as our educators set up various courses that tested their resilience and sharpened their navigation skills. 🌟🚦

It was incredible to watch our young learners rise to the occasion, mastering the paths while boosting their confidence and road safety awareness. “Theo, can you push me?” became a common call, showcasing their teamwork and support for each other. 🤝💪

Students earn these tokens through positive behaviour and contribute to their house's success by adding them to their house tube—aiming to win a prize! 🏆 It's a fantastic way to praise and set positive examples within our community.

The other week, our Year 11 and Year 12 Vocational Major students took a dynamic field trip to Dandenong Market for a hands-on learning experience focused on nutrition! 🥕🥦

Led by our Year 12s, honing their leadership skills, the students embarked on a lively scavenger hunt through the market’s fresh produce section, discovering a variety of nutritious food options. 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️ The adventure didn’t stop there; with a budget of $20, each Year 11 group bought ingredients representing all five food groups to whip up delicious dishes using just basic camping gear! 🔥🍴

The dishes were judged by Year 12 students, turning this into a fun and educational competition that enhanced their cooking skills and deepened their understanding of health and nutrition. 🏆👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

🌞🌹 Reflecting and Remembering: ANZAC Day at Heritage College

A few weeks ago, our NCP and OCP campuses held solemn gatherings under the warm sun to honour ANZAC Day, a day of deep reflection on the brave souls who sacrificed their lives. At NCP, Mr. Schubert’s poignant trumpet rendition of the Last Post echoed through the air, evoking a deep sense of reflection. Our student leaders delivered heartfelt readings, while Ms. Rob and Mr. Charles shared moving tributes, fostering a profound atmosphere of remembrance.

At OCP, the day began at 9:00 am with meticulous attention to detail. Our preps wore beautifully crafted poppies, symbolising remembrance and respect. Mrs Bennetts led a thoughtful reflection, and readings by Nikhil and Zac from the Student Leadership Committee, including "In Flanders Fields," prompted moments of contemplation and remembrance.

At 11:11 am, the ELC children, alongside secondary students and staff at the Officer campus, gathered for a tribute that included verses of the Australian National Anthem and the Ode of Remembrance, culminating in a wreath-laying below the flagpole.

As we remember those who have gone before us, let us recall the words from John 15:13, “Greater love hath no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” That day, and every day, we hold in our hearts the bravery and sacrifice of our service members. Lest we forget. 🕊️
