It's May 17 – the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination!

Today, millions of people around the world will be going rainbow to build LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and stand out against discrimination.

Today marks the day in 1990, when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases. Not that long ago! And while we've come so far since then, the reality is that the work is not over.

In the past year, we’ve seen bigotry and hatred on the rise. And in the last couple of months, instances of discrimination that feel far too close to home, causing ripple effects throughout our community, and towards our young people.

A recent incident? NSW politicians voting to ban books that celebrated same-sex families in public libraries in NSW.

Discrimination comes in many forms – and it includes decisions made by those in a position of power, harmful q***rphobia in too many workplaces, the abhorrent attacks in the media, and heartbreaking bullying that takes place in schools.

Today is a day to stand up against all of this.

Think 3000 delves into technology, design, and enterprise discussions, focused on sustainable futures and the decisions facing tomorrow’s leaders offering fresh perspectives often overlooked elsewhere.
 
The program is designed as a continuous dialogue that explores various themes from the diverse perspectives of different cohorts. Imagine a day filled with inspiring talks, panels, and workshops that gradually transition to a student-led hackathon finale, showcasing innovative solutions in engaging Q&As.

We were honored to facilitate the Anti-Racism Framework consultations in Sydney, a significant initiative delivered by our colleagues at Polaron for the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) and the Australian Human Rights Commission.

This collaboration was more than just a meeting; it was a powerful opportunity to connect with and learn from individuals with lived experiences of disability, inviting their invaluable input, insights, and transformative ideas.
