Panel No 3 β
Had the best day with my Grandson Oakley yesterday β£οΈ
His request was to make a fish. He chose the picture, we drew it, cut and fused it.
Needless to say we are both pretty stoked with the end result π₯°
That feels sooooo good π
Panel No 3 cut and the kiln is on with a reworked failure β£οΈ
Been a while π
Hard to believe this was a tv cabinet door once upon a previous life.
A salvaged piece of float glass that I thought was tempered glass. It was not.
So it got recycled into a beautiful dish.
The colour is amazing and has a gorgeous shine to it.
Luckily I have some more of this glass, I feel some more might be about to be made π
What are your thoughts βββ
Sometimes things donβt quite go to plan.
It slumped down in to the mould well, the edges were nice and smooth, but it also cracked βΉοΈ
Time for some research and try again.
If I can get it right, it will be gorgeous.
A piece of salvaged float glass in the kiln to slump. This should be interesting π€
And made a start on panel 3.
Pretty productive day βΊοΈ
2/4 πππ
And Panel 2 is in the kiln π€
Itβs growing, slowly π
Slow progress on Panel 2, but progress nonetheless π
The first of four panels in to the kiln. A combination of fused glass and leadlight techniques. No idea if I can pull this off, but letβs have a play.
If nothing else, itβs a learning experience π
Well thatβs what Iβll tell myself π
Gotta love new tools π
Now just to put it together π
A photographer I am not!
But I am loving these two β€οΈ
5.00am sneak peek π
One down, half a one to go π
Progress π
βMake another one with finer linesβ she said.
βItβll be funβ she said π€¦ββοΈπ
The not so glamorous side π
All the colours π
The 5.00am check of the kiln before I go to work π
Back in the kiln now to slump in to its final shape.
Always a hold your breath moment π€
What better way to start the year π
An afternoon well spent drawing up my next project π¨π»
A new toy for my glass drawing π
I had a blast at the π
Met some great people and received very positive feedback.
With the help of some gorgeous weather and some tunes, one last push and Iβm ready for the Fair π€ͺ
Bring on Friday π
Fresh out of the kiln this morning π
And this is what I have been working towards.
Hope to see you there π
A sweet little flower shaped dish complete with its own little π
Fresh out of the kiln βΊοΈ
With the addition of beautiful Murrini from π«Ά
