Bayside Kundalini Yoga
Suitable for everyone – whether you're new to yoga or experienced. Classes in Seaford.
Kundalini Yoga incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga into one cohesive and integrated system. It has a broad emphasis on breathing, meditation, hand positions (mudras), mantras and spirituality. The practice of Kundalini Yoga is said to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand the lung capacity, and purify the bloodstream. It aims to help you ha
"The aura is your protection; it is your shield. It can attract positivity and repel negativity – negativity from other people, from situations, and illness."
That's what we're taught in Kundalini Yoga.
Would you like a stronger aura? We'll be working on it this week at our yoga classes at Seaford.
(And for those who know the kriyas, don't worry, we're not doing any triangle pushups. Although I can give them as homework if you're keen!)
This week at Seaford our kriya is The Basic Spinal Energy Series. Can't do this one too often. Some people do it every day.
This week at we're doing a kriya called the Pranayama Series. I discovered this kriya as a result of a question a couple of years back, and it was so good I added it to the regular repertoire. (I wonder if the person who asked about it remembers. Thank you anyway. 🙏 )
As we transition to a heart-centred world (yes, I know we have a way to go), does this old adage still ring true?
When I think of some of my old bosses and colleagues whom I now regard as friends, when I think of yoga collaborations, when I think of clients and suppliers from my writing business, my answer is no. Why shouldn't business and pleasure intertwine? Surely, the whole of life can be fun. If we get it right, even blissful.
We're told that friendships can be put at risk. But if we have pure intent and good communications, surely any issues will be resolved in the right way.
So, I think business can mean pleasure. And if/when this new era we all want actually comes into being, the question will become a thing of the past.
What's your view? I'd love to hear it.
The topic of food and Ayurveda has come up a few times lately, both in the classes and outside. Here's the book I've mentioned, in case I don't get to show it to you in person. As you'll see if you scroll through, it's more than just a recipe book; it also gives some insights into Ayurveda and what it's all about.
Everlasting love and gratitude to the person who put me onto this book – you know who you are. And, in that context, the Joseph Conrad quote and the reference to expanding happiness add to the fun.
Two spots left for the next Yin Yoga, Sound, and Reiki evening with Alison and Paul at Seaford on 1 September.

Something special for gong lovers in our classes this week at . We're doing a beautiful short kriya and devoting most of the session to the gong.
Never experienced the gong in a yoga class? Now's the time to find out why so many people love it.
Excited to announce our next Yin sound and Reiki event, held at The Elements of Happiness again, limited to 10 people. This time, to celebrate the coming of spring, Alison has carefully put together a very nourishing Yin sequence. Spring represents the wood element, which relates to movement and action. Wood is the waking up from the darkness and hibernation of winter into the fresh air of spring, balanced like a tree, firmly rooted in the earth, yet at the same time flexible with branches that reach towards sunny skies to sprout new leaves. 🌳 The meridian lines of the wood element are the liver and the gallbladder and are related to the emotions of anger and kindness, and our capacity to organise and plan for the future.
Paul will bathe you with the sounds of the beautiful gong, in a manner that's carefully planned out to harmonise with each posture .
Yin is a beautiful practice that anyone can come to. If you have never tried Yin before and have any questions, please feel free to message Alison or me. 🙏🏻🧘🏼♀️🧘

Still a few spots left for Sunday's Yin Yoga with Alison, accompanied by the sounds of gentle gonging. The combination takes you deep within to enhance your practice.

If you're coming to one of our events at The Elements Of Happiness Seaford Wellness here's how to find the entrance from the car park. Just look for the mural of Bob Marley and you're there.
We're not doing this because it's close to the winter solstice. It's not because it's happening during Yoga Week. It's because Alison and I think you'll enjoy it and benefit from the combination of the gong being gently played while you're in Yin Yoga postures.
Message either one of us to book or ask questions about this special event, which is on Sunday 23 June at The Elements Of Happiness Seaford Wellness.
In Kundalini Yoga, there’s a kriya (session) for just about anything you might need. Flexibility of the spine; immune system; mental health; better sleep; spiritual growth; the chakras; dealing with the challenge of time; information overload – you name it, whatever the issue, there’s a kriya or meditation to help.
That’s what we’re told, and that’s our experience. Would you like to put it to the test? This month, I’m asking what you’d like to work on. If you can tell me what’s important to you, I’ll see if there’s a kriya or mediation for it and we can add it to the weekly schedule at The Elements Of Happiness Seaford Wellness.
The classes are suitable for everyone, regardless of physical ability or experience. Please DM for feedback to this query, or for enquiries and bookings.
According to the principles of Ayurveda, spring is a time for detoxing. So, during October, our kriyas (sessions) at The Elements Of Happiness Seaford Wellness will be aimed at helping the kidneys, adrenals, liver, and lymph glands do their work efficiently. We’ll work on a different aspect each week. And, as always, there’ll be a mini ‘gong bath’ in every class.
The classes are suitable for everyone, regardless of physical ability or experience. Please DM for enquiries or bookings.

We currently have space on both Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings if you’d like to join us. Please contact us to book your place.
In need of some gold amongst the winter grey? In this week's classes we're doing a kriya (session) called Kriya for Elevation.
