A sign has been erected in our creeklands advertising a survey on a draft strategy for Whitehorse’s open spaces. While the strategy does not highlight any changes to be considered for the creeklands, it does propose enhancements to many other open spaces throughout the city. The survey is open until Friday 30th August and seeks feedback on the importance of eight specific recommendations:

If you’d rather share your thoughts in person, the page also mentions a number of events, with one being held at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary next Saturday 10th August @ 10am near the Central Road playground.

Great turnout today for the launch of the Blackburn Lake Wetlands Regeneration project! The talks were held by Anne Payne, Tony Slater from the BLS Advisory Committee, Grant McAdam from the council, Rebecca Penrose from the Melbourne Water, and Mark Anderson from Bungalook nursery to explain the importance and what this project entails. Which was followed by a Q&A session.

We even had a cake cutting to commemorate the start of the project! 🥳

If YOU like to be involved, come down to our wetland working bee held on 3rd August and 7th of September with more to come! WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU! 😄
