Our Local Law affects everything from how you use your local park, to how we keep our streets safe. Every 10 years, we review it to make sure it continues to meet the needs of the community and addresses any new issues.
Your input can help us fine tune these laws to better suit the community's needs in areas such as:
🌳 How we use our parks, roads, and footpaths
🐶 Rules about pet ownership
🏠 How we manage Council buildings and land, and so much more
Tell us what you think about the changes we're proposing. It only takes a few minutes, and your voice can help shape the future of our community. The survey is open until 31 August 2024.

We’re teaming up with our neighbours in six other Councils - Mitchell Shire Council, Darebin City Council , Hume City Council, Merri-bek City Council, Nillumbik Shire Council, and City of Whittlesea to launch the "Connect Melbourne’s North: It’s time to transform our transport" campaign.
Our region’s growing fast, with over a million people now calling Melbourne’s north home, but our transport system hasn’t kept up. This campaign is all about fixing that. We’re calling for action to upgrade our transport, starting with:
🛤️ Extending and duplicating the Upfield rail line to better serve our communities
🚌 Improving bus routes to cut down on congestion and wait times
🚲 Boosting sustainable transport with more bike paths and EV infrastructure
These changes aren’t just about cutting commute times—they’re about improving access to jobs, education, healthcare, and social connections across our rapidly expanding region.
We need state and federal support to make this happen, and we’re ready to collaborate. Our community deserves a transport system that works for everyone.
