π Did you know you can prevent migraine attacks by wearing awesome colored glasses? π
Dr. Beth Yule recently shared a fascinating insight into how different colored lenses can help ease and prevent migraine attacks. She even borrowed these stylish red lens glasses from a patient to model them! Not only do they look cool, but they can also be particularly helpful during computer work or exposure to blue light sources, as they block out blue light known to contribute to migraines.
π‘ Fun Fact: Green or yellow wavelengths of light are the least stimulating for the brain. Glasses with these colored lenses, like the ones Simon Cowell wears, can also help prevent migraines.
Dr. Beth recommends trying a cheap pair, like a $20 pair from Amazon, to see if they make a difference before investing in a more expensive version.
β¨οΈ Have you tried different colored lenses? What was your experience? Do you think you could rock colored glasses?

Did you know more than 3.6 million Australians suffer from chronic pain? Many experience stigma, isolation, and severe physical and mental health issues. Pain impacts every aspect of their lives, making daily activities a challenge.
At Melbourne Headache Solutions, we believe in the power of compassion and understanding. Here's how you can help:
πΉ Ask: Check in on your loved ones. A simple "How are you feeling?" can mean the world.
πΉ Listen: Sometimes, the best support is just being there to listen.
πΉ Encourage: Motivate them to seek professional help. A supportive nudge can make a big difference.
Together, we can break the stigma and offer the support they need. Let's stand by each other and promote a community of care and understanding. π
Chronic migraines are more than just frequent headaches. They often come with severe pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and other debilitating symptoms. For those affected, the relentless nature of these migraines can lead to significant emotional and physical strain.
Imagine trying to go about your day with a constant, throbbing headache. Many people with chronic migraines struggle to maintain their jobs, participate in social activities, and engage in family life. The unpredictability of migraine attacks adds an extra layer of stress and anxiety, as sufferers never know when the next debilitating episode will strike.

Take Action This :

Understanding the real triggers behind migraines can make a world of difference. While stress is a well-known factor, there are many other potential causes. By identifying your specific triggers, you can take control of your migraine management.
Keeping a migraine diary and working closely with your healthcare provider can help tailor a plan that's just right for you.
Let's debunk the myths and take proactive steps towards better migraine care!
Get ready to make a bold statement! We're thrilled to support the Shades for Migraine campaign hosted by the Association of Migraine Disorders!
Did you know there are 1 billion people worldwide living with migraines? The impact reaches even further, affecting countless families and communities. On June 21st, put on your shades to show your support for those living with migraine disease.
Here's how you can join the campaign:SNAP a photo in your shades.SHARE it on social media using .CHALLENGE 3 others to do the same!Let's raise awareness together and show we care. Every snap, share, and challenge makes a difference!
Instead of immediately reaching for painkillers at the onset of a migraine, consider trying deep breathing exercises or meditation. These techniques can help reduce stress and alleviate migraine symptoms naturally.
π‘ Why Try Deep Breathing and Meditation?
- Reduce Stress: Stress is a common migraine trigger. Deep breathing and meditation can help calm your mind and body, reducing overall stress levels.
- Improve Relaxation: These practices encourage relaxation, which can help ease the tension that often accompanies migraines.
- Enhance Pain Management: By focusing on your breath and practicing mindfulness, you can shift your attention away from pain, making it more manageable.
At Melbourne Headache Solutions, we believe in a holistic approach to migraine management. Incorporating natural techniques like deep breathing and meditation can complement your overall treatment plan and provide significant relief.
Next time you feel a migraine coming on, take a few minutes to practice these techniques. Your body and mind will thank you!
This June16, we acknowledge the estimated six million people living with this disease. Let's end the stigma and raise awareness about the challenges faced by those with chronic migraines.
Swipe through to see why breaking the stigma around men seeking help for headache diseases is so important. From key statistics to the impact on daily life, it's time to recognize and address the unique challenges men face with headaches.
Let's ensure everyone gets the care they need and deserves. Share to spread awareness and support!
Here's a common misconception: many believe you can always tell when a migraine is coming. However, the truth is more complex. While some individuals do experience warning signs like aura, others may have migraines that start suddenly without any forewarning. This unpredictability can make managing migraines particularly challenging.
Understanding and recognizing your own migraine patterns is crucial for effective management. Keeping a migraine diary to track triggers, symptoms, and the timing of attacks can be incredibly helpful. This personal insight allows you to better anticipate and manage your condition.
At Melbourne Headache Solutions, we are dedicated to providing expert care and support to those suffering from migraines. Our approach includes comprehensive assessments and personalised treatment plans designed to identify and address the root causes of your pain.
This , let's work together to spread awareness, challenge misconceptions, and support those affected by migraines. Ever heard of vestibular migraines? They're not your typical headache. Beyond the usual migraine symptoms of head pain, nausea, and sensitivity to lights or sounds, vestibular migraines bring something else to the table - a dizzying sensation that can throw your world out of balance.
What sets vestibular migraines apart are symptoms like vertigo, dizziness, and balance issues, stemming from disruptions in the vestibular system - our internal compass for balance and orientation. π§π«
Interestingly, with vestibular migraines, a headache might not always be present, making it a peculiar cousin in the migraine family. π€―βπ’
If you've experienced these symptoms, you're not alone, and help is available. Understanding is the first step to managing vestibular migraines. To book an appointment call us on (03) 9486 7543.
Did you know that neck pain is often a precursor to migraines and headaches? π€ The muscles and nerves in your neck can significantly influence your head's well-being, leading to discomfort or even intense pain.
Neck pain and migraines are often interlinked, where tension in the neck muscles can contribute to or exacerbate headache symptoms. This relationship is due to the physical and neurological connections between the neck and the head.
If neck pain is leading to headaches more often than not, we're here to help. At our clinic, we offer tailored treatments that address the root cause of your pain.
