When you feel strong, roll with it. Normally I hover around 110-130kg with my hip thrusters and go for high reps (mainly because it’s a pain in the arse to set up and pack up 🤣) but this was a strong day so I upped it to 150kg. Not every day can be a strong day, but when it is push yourself just a bit further than you think you can 💥

Today Phil does a 36, Glenn does a 40 and Lucas does a 26. And all still improving. It doesn’t matter where you start. What matters is you start and see where you can end up!

December 27th 2018 I signed a lease on this space. I loved it from the minute I saw it, particularly that window.
Shipping delays on equipment meant I wouldn’t be open until March 2019.
It felt like forever but finally on March 9th I did it. I flung those doors open with no idea what was ahead of me.
Today my gym, affectionately known as Fitzy turns 4 🥳🎉
It’s been a ride!
Ups, downs, blood, sweat, tears ( find me a small business owner that hasn’t cried more than once)
And I wouldn’t swap it for anything
Year 5, here I come !

International women’s day
To all the chicks out there flying solo, not flying solo, raising children, not raising children, climbing the corporate ladder, not climbing the corporate ladder. To every one of you, you are awesome. But for me, a particular huge shout out for my beautiful strong girls that come to my gym every week to lift weights and get stronger and fitter so they can live their best life, at the same time as supporting me and my business. I didn’t need a special date to tell you’re ace, but here it is anyway 💜

Ok so there’s two things here
Firstly a brilliant article from a newsreader who has the exact same opinion as me as to the way news is delivered in the country ( which is why I don’t watch news. Gave it up years ago and I know what I need to know)
BUT even more alarming Is the death rate from falls ( worse than Covid)
Falls that could have been avoided or less traumatic because you are strong with good balance and strong bones. Falls that could have been prevented with weight training. Or a fall recovered from more quickly because you had a strong healthy base. And you didn’t get pneumonia whilst in hospital recovering from a fall because you had a great immune system.
Watch the news if you wish. It’s a personal opinion
But as for strength training, knowing those statistics that we never hear about would be far more beneficial and maybe more people would take their strength seriously
Sitting in traffic for an hour and ten minutes tonight did not excite me

I’m a bit of a fan of the single arm high pull and do them often. But boy do I see some terrible versions.
Here is Lucas performing then how I ask! Use your squat, touch the bell on the ground at base and full extension at the top! 👏👏👏

Happy 3rd birthday Fitzy! We made it
October 2018, I walked into this space and fell in love with these windows ( weird I know) but windows are kinda important to me , and I fell in love with the entire space. It took me 3 months to get it and 3 further months for the slow boat from China to arrive with all my kettlebells that would eventually live under these windows 🙌
Finally March 9th 2019 I opened my dream, my baby, my start up, my gym!
The business model was solid. The lack of upcoming pandemic warning was less solid. Survived year one only to spend years 2 and 3 in and out of 8 million lockdowns and hanging onto my little biz for dear life.
I didn’t know how I could survive but I was never giving up. So to be able to post something on this day, KettleFit North Fitzroy’s 3rd birthday thrills me to pieces 🙌
And all I can say is a massive thank you to every single person that has been a member of my gym at some point. But more importantly to all my beautiful members/friends who stuck by me through every lockdown.
It takes a village and I have the best village going 🙌

Until I received a message wishing me a Happy International Women’s day I didn’t realise it was. I mean seriously shouldn’t us chicks be celebrated daily ( and the men) but since it is IWD I’m shouting out my girls. I have the privilege of being able to spend every day with some incredibly strong and beautiful women. Some of the best females I know. These girls are my members, but more so my friends and supporters. They are strong, fierce and f*cking awesome.
So to all my KettleFit ladies this one’s for you 😘💗happy International Women’s Day
Continuous Improvement!
Don’t ever think you are good enough at something, because as soon as you find a weakness, by default you’ll come out stronger! And you know I’m a huge fan of always coming out stronger
Turns out my quads are strong AF, my glutes are strong AF, but little f*cking hammies need to lift their game.
And by working on that means I have to correct my s**t deadlift form. Thanks Anth for the treatment, the cupping, the strength training chats and of course for ironing out some technical issues on my set up.
Everyone is a student, so if your coach isn’t continually trying to improve, you need another coach !!!
Don’t settle for good, strive for great 💥
When the struggle against the clock is real! KettleFit signature sessions are our Wednesday and Saturday “performance” sessions. Everyone of them unique and different and designed to be hard to complete, but guaranteed to make you the fittest you’ve ever been.
Will you beat the clock or will the clock beat you ? Only one to find out, show up and give it a red hot crack.
And remember, you don’t have to be fit to start. Start and you will be fit

Classics or Pro Grades? Which do you prefer
starts with classics ( the little guys) before switching to the Pro Grades ( competition bells)
It’s a personal choice.
Me I prefer a Pro grade for almost everything but switch to a classic for the odd exercise here and there.

A massive thanks to all my amazing members, particularly the ones that stuck by me all through lockdowns.
You make me more determined than I already am ( didn’t think that was possible) you make me smile and laugh ALOT! You remind me that there are seriously good people in the world, and you make the hard times worth it.
So set goals for next year, challenge yourself, always aim for continuous improvement and always remember to put your health and fitness first.
But don’t change to a new you, cause you are ace just as you are
Now go let your hair down with friends and family, lose your phone wallet and keys, dance on your kitchen bench top, text someone a message after too many drinks and die inside tomorrow morning when you realise you did that 😉
Keep your pets safe when the fireworks hit.

I’m a massive fan of Gutright and use it daily to keep my gut in tip top condition. It’s an absolute game changer and my shopping list is not compete without it. My gut depends on it and therefore I depend on it 💜
If you feel a bit sluggish after the next couple of weeks of over indulging, I highly recommend you do the 10 Gutright protocol and hit the New Year running.
