Hey all, I’m Kelly, the new Director of Australian Sweet Co!

My introduction into the sweet candy manufacturing business is a funny one when four years ago I took a much needed break from a career in the aged care sector. Wanting to return to work, but not to aged care, I was browsing online and found an advert for a job in my local area for a “Lolly Production/Packaging Assistant”. I explained a story to my husband of a job I had as a youth, working on a lollipop production line and how I really enjoyed it and always wanted to do it again… So I applied, with a resume based on care giving and a cover letter asking for a chance.

Donna took the chance and we have never looked back.. I love working with my hands and creating things using old fashioned methods and working at Australian Sweet Co where I was able to do both… 15 hours soon turned into a hyper focused passion and my growth started. Understanding the basics of business though my husband and a strong connection with the team as well as Donna as a strong leader and mentor has all led to where we are today.

Brittle Bay was launched and we will continue Australian Sweet Co into the future.

HOORAY FOR 2024 😊🥳🥰 2023 I have to say I’m really looking forward to celebrating 2024 and putting 2023 firmly in the rear window . It was the toughest one in so so many ways 😫, from almost closing the doors permanently 😭to mental health struggles 🤯to rapidly rising costs of ingredients. The impact really taking its toll. And then ending the year with record sales in November & December. is certainly tough, but 2023 felt tougher than normal. I realised I’m tougher than I thought, or maybe I’m just stubborn. So many businesses DID close their doors, and it really takes courage to do that too. After 12 years in biz, I do still question this everyday. The lolly making I absolutely love , receiving the emails & reviews of how much our customers love 🥰 our sweets really gets , it’s everything else that comes with running & growing a business that’s the most challenging. I’m determined to make 2024 the best one yet
