The Australian Communist party is pleased to announce a series of illustrated presentations tracing the fascinating and inspiring history of the Communist movement in Australia. This decade-by-decade examination is a contribution by the ACP to the commemoration of the centenary the founding of the original Communist Party in Australia on the 30th of October 1920.

The sessions will set the development of the original Communist Party in its Australian and international context and highlight the bold actions that earned the movement its prominent place in the history of the country. They will delve into the reasons for the highs and lows of that history and the need to revive the movement in the interests of the working class currently under intensified ruling class assault. This won't bring back those dead over this, or the time lost and years wasted fighting illegitimate debts. The fact this was agreed to rather than the government submit to cross examination just shows how much they have to hide.

NEWS: The Commonwealth Government has agreed to a settlement worth $1.2 billion over its unlawful program.

The Federal Government has also agreed with a decision to drop a further $398 million in debts wrongly raised.

More than 400,000 people will be refunded.

The Hospitality industry is a shining example of exploitation and theft, even before COVID hit million dollar companies were being hit by fines (more a slap on the wrist). There is never any excuse to underpay your workers.

Hi folks! As part of our program we’ve been doing food runs in the city, giving out water, fruit and hot meals to people in need. Here’s a pic of us from last Sunday!

Up to this point we’ve been paying out of our own pockets, and thought it might be a good idea to reach out to the community for some help!

We know not everyone is comfortable with just giving money to strangers, so anything from toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, tampons) for health kits to fruit and veg, even home cooked meals (which we’ve found that people greatly appreciate). If you’re interested in donating or helping out, send us a message!

On this day, 14 September 1867, volume one of Karl Marx’s Magnum Opus, 'Das Kapital' first appeared in Germany. Subsequently published in all the world’s major languages and studied widely by workers, it was often referred to as “The Bible of the working class”. While lengthy, it is definitely worth a read at some point as it is still unsurpassed as an analysis and critique of capitalism.

Universities are forcing more and more tutors onto casual contracts, making them work outside working hours and do unpaid work. Meanwhile board members and deans are paid MILLIONS, and Universities have literal billions in unused funds. Universities have continually made cuts to hardworking students and teachers pays, while maintaining unnecessarily large expenses for higher ups.
