New Research: COTA finds that Age-Related Discrimination Is Rampant In Western Australia. Its disappointing, but not surprising, that older people (over 50 years of age) are feeling less optimistic about their future than in previous years.
This, our third State of the Older Nation report, tracks the opinions and concerns of Western Australians as they age - including discrimination, employment, cost of living and access to health care.

Our Story

The Council on the Ageing Western Australia works towards an equitable, just and inclusive society in which older people can flourish.

Starting life in 1959 as the Old People’s Welfare Council of Western Australia, the change to the Western Australian Council of the Ageing in 1968 crystallised the founding principal of valuing the contribution and lived experience of older people. Our principals and purpose guide us to this day, as we are recognised as the peak body for Older Australians.
