🧘‍♀️ Meditation is a great antidote to stress and it's free! It doesn't require a big time commitment either. Start with just a few minutes every day.
Here are a few tips to get you started
👉 Get to where you need to go early, start with 5 minutes every day. Schedule it into your day. Set a timer to remind yourself.

Get Back to the Breath
✔Count out breaths  (every exhale ) to 10  – repeat 3 times
✔4-7-8 Breath (breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7, breath out for 8)
✔Box Breathing – 4-4-4-4 (breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, breath out for 4, hold for 4). Do this for 30 seconds
✔Do a Body Scan to check in with yourself if you are stressed. Are you breathing, take some deep belly breaths and try some breathing exercises
✔Make and om sound - deep hum in the back of you throat. Sends healing vibrations to your brain and central nervous system

Herbs that tonify.....
There are so many herbs that have this action, these three herbs are some of the most well known tonics....
Licorice......
Is my all time favourite, it is hypertensive, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. It is also fantastic for lowering blood sugar because of its actions on the HPA (Hypothalamus- Adrenal-Pituitary Axis). Cortisol is a natural steroid in the body that has multiple roles. One of the main roles of cortisol is to regulate blood sugar. This is why it is great for those afternoon sugar cravings. If you are suffering from those, try having a licorice and cinnamon tea :)
Oats....
Calm you down when you are feeling anxious because they are anti inflammatory. They have specific properties that reduce inflammation in the body via specific polyphenolic anti-oxidants known as avenanthramides. This is why they are also great for dermatitis and eczema. If your baby has eczema, add a handful of oats (in a cloth bag) to the bed time bath for the skin and the nervous system. If you have had a stressful day and need to unwind, add some oats, epson salts and lavender essential oil to a bath for a good nights sleep :)
