Each month Canning Swim School awards one hard working student as ‘Swimmer of the Month’. This award recognises their achievements and improvement and students are awarded with a certificate and prize pack.
We’re thrilled to announce that our Swimmer of the Month for May is Lincoln! Lincoln was recognised for comforting a new student in his class who was very nervous. Lincolns teacher was very impressed with his ability to comfort another child and does not think this child would have participated without Lincoln help!

💥 Push-Up for June! 💥

From 1 June 2024 until 30 June 2024, we are running the PUSH-UP FOR JUNE Challenge at Cannington Leisureplex and Riverton Leisureplex!

Complete at least 15 workouts throughout the month of June, and you will go into a draw to win a $50 gift card and Leisureplex prize pack! ✨

All workouts must include a variation of push-up, and workouts must be completed using the Get Active Canning app. 💪

There will be one winner from Cannington Leisureplex and one winner from Riverton Leisureplex. Winners will be announced at the end of the month.🏆

To participate, download the Get Active Canning app, create an account, join the PUSH-UP FOR JUNE Challenge, and ensure that your workouts include any number of push-ups!

🥊 Throw some hits at Box Fit! 💥

Box Fit at Riverton Leisureplex is a boxing inspired workout designed to challenge your fitness and power, as well as improve your upper body strength and endurance. 💪👊

Classes run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm - 4:45pm inside the FIIT Factory at Riverton Leisureplex.

Friday Social Badminton Update🏸

The Friday, 17th May first session of social badminton (6:00pm to 7:15pm) will be cancelled due to a staff training program. The second session of social badminton (7:15pm to 8:30pm) will still be available to all players.
Social badminton will recommence as normal from Friday, 24th May.

Running every Saturday from 11:30am - 12:30pm on the indoor sports courts at Cannington Leisureplex. At only $22.50 per 1 hour court hire, this price includes net, paddle and ball hire for up to 4 members per booking.

Please note, no coach is available during these sessions, a coach will be available during the Friday Social Pickleball sessions.

Suitable for walking babies to 4 yr olds, our Kindy Gym classes run on Mondays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 10.15am. No bookings are required; this casual entry class is priced at only $6.50 per session or $58 for a 10 visit multi pass.

During Chat Week, swimming lessons finish 5 minutes early to give parents the opportunity to discuss their child's progress with their teacher. Did you know you can view your child’s progress online via our Online Customer Portal?

🛟 Safety Week: Monday 6 May to Sunday 12 May 2024 🛟

Safety Week focuses on safety & survival skills in and around water. This includes how to swim fully clothed, signal for help whilst treading water, basic rescue techniques and many other necessary lifelong survival skills. Don’t forget to bring your clean pj’s to swim in!

The City of Canning’s Local Bite Nights and Community Movie Night are joining forces on Friday 3 May at Wyong Park in Bentley, to bring the community together for an epic night out under the stars!

Bring your family and friends and enjoy a no cook Friday night by purchasing dinner from one of the delicious food trucks. The movie will be the, The Amazing Maurice, so make sure you bring your picnic blankets and chairs to get comfortable for a great night out.

There will also be FREE limited popcorn, and ice-creams thanks to the Wanju Welcome team!
