I offer services for adults counseling and psychotherapy to address Trauma - Anxiety - Depression - Grief and Loss - identity
The modalities I use includes: Person-centred/Psychodynamic/ Attachment Therapy/Somatic Therapy/ACT/Meditation
Our First 6 weeks weekly (online) Boundaries workshops kicked off on the 15th. For those who missed the signed up this time around, Here's a question for you to think about - How close do the people (you like/dislike) get close to you
The common practice amongst the participants from yesterday's workshop was: people I love can enter into my boundary circle.
The assumption here may be that the people who love us will not hurt us.
I encourage us to give the people we love
some grace and assume them capable of not knowing that their behaviours can also can also cause us harm or drain us of our resources.
We need boundaries in place so that, as Brene Brown said " I can maintain my integrity and make the most generous assumption about you"

Self-compassion is the love you show yourself.
If people knew what is humanly possible for them, they will treat any situation that they were in like a game they just needed to figure out.

When you decide to make a change, the mind soon goes into resistance and tries to negotiate the old way into the new way...at this point, just notice.
Meditation is one way to help you manage your emotions. It is a space given to train your mind to allow the thoughts to pass and refrain from reacting.
Managing your emotions is not needing things to change in order for you to feel better.
To self regulate is to sooth oneself as a mother would with her child.
Provide your emotions with space to be felt and heard.
Once they have received acknowledgement, empathy and love they will subside
The body will pick up the familiar signs and respond first.
Create your own bubble of well-being - a step further to self care practicing self compassion, where nothing is worth costing your happiness. NOTHING!!
Show up for the child with kindest. That includes your inner child. If there is resistance, just notice...thats where you currently are with your inner child...you can grow from this!
Namaste is a greeting in sanskrit that acknowledges the other by the deep connection of beings.
"I see you" is a very profound acknowledgement of another and a significant component for healing in a therapeutic relationship.

To meditate is to familiarise with a concept/idea or state of being. Mindfulness and meditation is therefore to familiarise yourself with the present moment where nothing is wrong...right now, in this moment nothing is wrong.
